Notes From the Field: Pulling Together for Wildlife
As summer descends on Jackson Hole, so too begins the "forever" phase of active land protection - our ongoing annual duty of getting out on the land to monitor properties, visit with landowners and ranch managers of conservation properties, and together ensure that the conservation values of each easement are upheld through time. On the Porcupine Plateau, JHLT, the Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation, and conservation landowners have been part of a multi-year effort to remove fencing for wildlife connectivity. Find out more in our latest "Notes From the Field".

Land Trust Alliance National Council Visits Jackson
The Land Trust Alliance's National Council will be visiting Jackson Hole in late June for their annual meeting. LTA is the national umbrella organization for land trusts across the nation, and JHLT looks forward to hosting the National Council as they tour iconic JHLT protected properties like the Snake RiverRanch and new projects focused on community conservation like River Springs - Rendezvous Park.

Mack Mendenhall

Open Space Council Profile: Mack Mendenhall
Mack Mendenhall joined our Open Space Council in 2013, and has contributed to our community outreach efforts by donating photography of protected properties and arranging a JHLT presentation before the Teton County Board of Realtors this fall. We are grateful to Mack and our Open Space Council for the many ways they help further our work in the community!

About Mack: Originally from North Carolina, Mack graduated from NCSU with honors. Mack became connected with Jackson Hole by introducing thousands of visitors to the Greater Yellowstone region as a river guide, photographer, and JHMR employee. Being raised in the family brokerage, Mack became a third generation realtor with Jackson Hole Real Estate Associates - and is the first and only real estate agent ever to be voted the Best in Jackson Hole from 2009-present. As an active member of the community, Mack is a board member for the Teton Board of Realtors, Town Creek Condominium HOA board member, and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, the Teton Raptor Center, and Old Bill's Fun Run. Mack and his wife Katie raise their daughter Grace in East Jackson.

Teton Legacy Society: Planned Giving for Conservation

Here at the Jackson Hole Land Trust, we continue to be inspired by our donors' commitment to and passion for the beauty of this valley. The Teton Legacy Society was formed to recognize a special group of these donors who have generously supported our work through a planned estate gift. You can read more about the Teton Legacy Society's contributions to recent land conservation efforts in our latest Open Lands newsletter. Learn more about making a planned gift to the Jackson Hole Land Trust here.

The Jackson Hole Land Trust is a private nonprofit that was established in 1980. We work to preserve open space and the scenic, ranching and wildlife values of Jackson Hole and Western Wyoming landscapes by assisting landowners who wish to protect their land in perpetuity.
