Off-Site fundraiser for the Jewish Family Services of the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley:   Self-Defense Class at Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu, 1520 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN, 46615.  Class is for everyone 15 years and older. Children under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.  No charge for the class, but donations recommended. All donations go to Jewish Family Services. Instructor: Gary Briscoe, black belt Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Japanese Jiu Jitsu, 15 years of experience.  Assistant instructor: Shoshana Stein, black belt taekwondo, 3 years of experience.

Downtown South Bend Wine Walk
Wednesday, August 9 from 5:00- 9:00 PM
 
Join us as we walk through downtown South Bend and try different restaurants. During the wine walk you will receive 3 wine tastings and 3 food tastings at each restaurant. $40 total, per person ($25 designated driver rate for those who would like to taste food but not alcohol.)

It's that time of year, when we ask our readers to consider sending in a voluntary subscription to the Our Community News. Your financial support helps us cover the cost of printing and mailing the newsletter to all Jewish households in our community.  You may also choose to send a gift subscription to a family member or friend who lives out of town.

New and renewing subscribers will receive a free checkbook size Jewish calendar and a free High Holiday Greeting in the September newsletter.
(Subscriptions must be received by August 15, 2017 to receive a calendar and free greeting.)
