Annual Reports
A Message from the President & CEO

It's here.  December.  The holidays are days away and so is 2017.

We hope that as you look back on 2016, LSI will have been a part of your year. If you have attended an educational event or support group, participated in a walk or a run, found information on our website or raised awareness during Lupus Awareness Month, we thank you.

You have helped make 2016 a year to remember!

We're getting our annual report ready and next week we'll share information on our accomplishments - and by "our" I mean the entire lupus community.

Because together we make a difference.

We hope you'll enjoy this final eChronicle of 2017.  Our first Bank of America Chicago Marathon runner has set up her page - Cassandra Siegfried's inspiring story is below.

We also highlight Lakeshore Recycling Systems for promoting lupus awareness in the company's newsletter.

And the Empowering Lupus Patients Educational Seminar - our first educational event for 2017 - is open for registration.  You don't want to miss this event.  Topics are Lupus and the Workplace and Legal Issues and Lupus.  We hope we'll see you there!

Last week, many of you received an email featuring a video of LSI supporter Tawny Smith.  This outstanding video will play in doctor's offices across the country - reaching thousands with lupus information.  LSI was instrumental in facilitating this awareness opportunity.  Just one more way LSI makes a difference in the lupus community.

Our Holiday Appeal is going strong - thanks to everyone who has donated already!  If you haven't yet - it's not too late!  Your donations enable us to continue to provide outstanding educational events to everyone in the lupus community - including personal support.

Together we make a difference,

Charles Brummell
Cassandra SiegfriedCassandra
Lupus Charity Runner shares her reason for running

My sister Elisha Siegfried Lopez passed away on January 24, 2016 at the age of 32. She was diagnosed with Lupus several years ago and suffered daily from it. She had her good and bad days as people with Lupus do. One day she decided she would become a Lupus Support Group Leader in New Jersey to help others like her. She put everything she had into that and met some great people along the way until she became too sick to continue on. She always supported everything I chose to do even if it didn't seem like a great idea at first she still went with it.
