Chapel Time - Our Bible Verse this month is "God Made the World and Everything in it ". (Acts 17:24). Ms Pam led our chapel lesson this week and talked about the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and all the animals.  The children learned that God made each one of us unique and we are special to him.
Join us on Sunday at the 10:45 service where your children will participate in the worship service.
A Visit from the Raleigh Police Department  - Three officers came to the preschool to talk about their job and how they help our community.  The children got to hold the handcuffs and sit in the police car.

The Friends of the Preschool (FOP) is sponsoring an ice-cream social at the maze.  Parents  are encouraged to come with children to enjoy a sweet treat and get to know others in our preschool family. RSVP to gslpfop@gmail.com  so we know how much ice cream to buy! This event is from 6-7pm.
Spanish Classes begin at GSLP
Senora Shannon began speaking in Spanish to our 4 and 5 year-old children this month. They are learning greetings, saying their names and how they feel. They will showcase their Spanish singing talent at the Christmas program in December and at Graduation in May.
Picture Day with Persuasions Photography
On Tuesday or Wednesday, Sept 26 and 27, please consider having a school picture taken of your child. Mr. Ned has been our photographer for over 20 years and does an amazing job. He also generously gives the preschool a percentage of the profit. Extra flyers are available in the preschool office.
Dot Day!  Preschoolers of all ages enjoyed Dot Day. We wore polka dots and heard the story of The Dot , by Peter H. Reynolds, where a child learned to be creative from just a single dot on the paper.
Each year at the beginning of school, please link or re-link your grocery cards to GSLP's number. Each time you shop, the preschool benefits and it adds up. We effortlessly earned over $500 from Harris Teeter last year. More than one school can be linked at a time. We thank you for linking your cards. Click the links below to link your card online.

The mission of GSLP is to provide a Christ-centered early childhood preschool through faith-based education and service in a nurturing inclusive environment.
The Educational Philosophy of Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool
The focus of the preschool is to meet children’s needs and stimulate learning in these developmental areas:   *Physical    *Emotional/ Social    *Spiritual    *Cognitive        *Music/Art
To nurture these areas the Preschool’s objectives are to:
  • Integrate Christian faith formation throughout the curriculum.
  • Develop a cooperative/supportive relationship between the child, the family and the preschool.
  • Provide developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Teach children about their relationship with God and all people in the world.
  • Provide tools for assessment of students’ progress.
Our teachers relate education to the child’s understanding about God and Christian life so that the spiritual and developmental aspects of the curriculum become a foundation for a lifelong faith.
