Updates from the STAR² Center

The  STAR² Center (Solutions, Training, and Assistance for Recruitment and Retention) of the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) provides free resources, training, and technical assistance (TA) related to recruitment and retention in community health centers.

Time is running out for us to gather information on health professions training in health centers! We look forward to sharing this important data with our PCA partners to drive resources, training, and TA efforts specific to this exciting area of health center workforce development but we need your help! Please share the following information with your members and colleagues today!

With the support of HRSA's Bureau of Primary Health Care, the  STAR² Center  is fielding a short assessment to gather information on health centers' current experiences with health professions training activities in order to identify potential areas for resources, training, and technical assistance. 

This assessment takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and should be completed by all health centers regardless of whether or not they are currently training health professions students or residents. 

Please share this with health center workforce staff to  complete the assessment online by October 13, 2017. You can preview the questions prior to completing the assessment by   clicking here. We hope to hear from you soon!

NCA Face to Face

The STAR² Center's Allison Abayasekara and Suzanne Speer returned from last week's National Cooperative Agreement in person meeting energized and ready to dive into our next national collaborative efforts! We look forward to continuing to work with our NCA and PCA partners to bring our best resources and training material to workforce teams across the country. Scope of Practice Policy Tool

This website and interactive map were designed by the  National Conference of State Legislatures and the  Association of State and Territorial Health Officials to educate state policymakers about scope of practice issues related to nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dental hygienists and dental therapists.  The site provides nonpartisan, unbiased and objective policy information about the scope of practice laws in the 50 states, District of Columbia and territories.
