Members ' Linked in' at September's Breakfast

The South Lake Chamber of Commerce held the Chamber Monthly Breakfast, sponsored by Firehouse Subs and co-sponsored by Belk of Clermont last Friday, September 15. It was a great morning of networking and breakfast provided by Dunkin Donuts . Suzanne Kelly of Firehouse Subs spoke about the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation . The Keynote Speaker, Mikel Jorgensen, of Chess Club Media , spoke about "Improving Your Professional Online Identity" and gave helpful tips on how to update your Linkedin page.

The new program, Foundations for Education, was introduced during this month's breakfast, and the first of five $1,000 scholarships was awarded to Caroline King, a student at Real Life Christian Academy. The new program is in partnership with Community Foundation of South Lake, and this month's award was sponsored by United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties.

This month's breakfast also included a special recognition of Sham Ramratton for his Outstanding Contributions to the Chamber. Door prizes from Computer Business Consultants , New Vision For Independence and Charlie's Grill and Pub at Day's Inn & Suites were handed out to several lucky winners.

The next Chamber Breakfast will be on Friday, October 20 and will feature a keynote presentation by Dr. Diane Kornegay, Superintendent of Lake County Schools.

Reporting Damage to Your Business: The Florida Virtual Business Emergency Operations Center is asking businesses with damage to please complete an online survey in order to best assist in determining if relief services for businesses should be activated. You may complete the survey here.
