The Importance Of Company Reputation
A lot of business leaders have the idea that if they just post a job opening in their company, that talented candidates will start beating down their door. Yes, a good number of people will apply for the positions, but are these individuals top performers?

Did you know that your company's reputation has a lot to do with the type of candidates you attract? Good employees want to find good jobs, not just any job. If a person knows they have a lot to offer a company, they are not going to just go to work anywhere.

Why it is Important to Invest in Your Current Employees
There are many ways that you can work to build a good reputation for your company. It starts with how you treat your current employees.

If the employees that work for you feel that they are well taken care of, it will work toward your benefit.

People that work for you, will talk about you. If you are a good place to work, they will share that with those around them. If you have a strained environment and make it hard for your employees, they will share that also.
Being sure that you have invested in the people that work for you is step one in building a good reputation.

What Your Customer Service Says To Potential Candidates
Not only are potential customers looking at customer feedback from other patrons, but so are potential candidates. In today's culture, customers have the opportunity to share with the world their experiences with your business.

When you take care of your customers and provide the service they need, you are building a good reputation for your business. Word gets around, both good and bad. Unfortunately, the bad can be heard much louder than the good.

Is a Good Reputation Really Important to Potential Candidates?
Absolutely! People that are top performers want to work at companies that are top performing businesses. They do not want to go to work somewhere that will drag them down and keep them from reaching their career goals.

No one wants to be associated with a business that has a bad reputation for the way they treat their employees or customers.

In order to attract people that are talented and qualified, you must be a business that has a good reputation in your area.

Time Management Strategies
In order for companies to be successful, time needs to be managed properly. When schedules are run properly, more work can be accomplished in a day. The faster the work is done, the more a business can increase their revenue.

Lead From the Front
Leaders are the forerunners for change in the business place. It is important that you get a good grasp on time management before you implement a plan of action in your company.

Start work early in the day. Statistically, you will accomplish more if you start earlier. Create a reasonable timeline for the day. Be sure to give yourself extra time to accomplish each task.

Make the distinction between being busy and being productive. Commit to tasks that will help you get closer to your business goals, not just tasks that will make you look busy.

Plan out your schedule two weeks in advance.
You should know what your priorities are for two weeks at a time so that you can stay ahead of the curve.

Learn what to say no to and what to commit to. When you say yes to the wrong things, you are only keeping yourself from being able to manage your time wisely.

Implement Time Management Strategies in Your Company
Once you have a good handle on your own time management, you can implement strategies in your company. Many of the same concepts you apply to your day to day can be applied to the functions of your office. Help your employees to understand what is important to accomplish each day.

When you build a culture in your office of managing time wisely, it will help you meet your business goals faster. Here are strategies you can put in place in your company.
  • Have productive staff meetings- many times in staff meetings, you can get off track with the topics. Send out an agenda ahead of time so that everyone knows what to expect.
  • Develop an action plan- during your staff meetings, go over priorities for the week. This will give each person on the team something to work toward.
  • Send out follow up details- after your meetings, send the team follow up details so they can know exactly what they need to focus on.
  • Create a system for accountability- each staff member should check in with a superior in some way and give an account of what they accomplished. This will further ensure your team members stay focused.
By putting together a game plan and informing your staff of the priorities, your business will stay organized. The more organized you are, the better your company will function and the more successful you will be.

10 Key Tips For Leaders
1.     Get the right people. Motivation is primarily in the selection. Find people who are both capable and motivated to achieve the goals you help set for them.

2.     Explain what you're doing and why. Your people must understand how everything you ask of them contributes to the overall goal.

3.     Accept mistakes. When you climb mountains, falling is a possibility. Teach your people that whether they are successful or not, they should be proud of having made the effort.

4.     Solicit criticism. In life, successful people are not reluctant to be criticized. Be willing to take the blame for mistakes and to learn from them.

5.     Treat people fairly, but differently. Dedicate yourself to discovering what makes each member of your team tick. People tell you how to motivate them; it's up to you whether you will hear what they are saying.

6.     Let people be selfish . With enough selfish people you can accomplish a lot. Learn to focus your people's self-interest toward team goals and your team will achieve beyond your expectations.

7.     Be decisive. If you have to make a decision, don't hem and haw. Do it and don't stew over it. As the leader you are expected to act like one. Making a poor decision is often better than making no decision at all.

8.     Recognize individuals for their contributions. If you show that every member of the staff is important to the team's success, others will believe it too.

9.     Establish a tradition. When you create a system that works, people gain faith in the system and in your leadership. Even when you're not present, your leadership carries over in the precedent that you've established.

10.   Lead by example. Leadership is in the day-to-day things you do correctly. The example you set is much more important than any speech you give.
