Huge Twist-Tie Sculpture by Craft + Material Studies Director Featured in Philadelphia Airport Exhibition

A massive work by Craft + Material Studies  program director Mi-Kyoung Lee MFA '96 (Book Arts + Printmaking)  titled "Yellow Forest" is currently on display in Terminal E of the Philadelphia International Airport. Part of the facility's Art at the Airport exhibition program, the 40-foot by nine-foot sculptural form is created entirely out of thousands of industrial plastic twist ties, knotted together to bind the huge amounts of material into a singular structure. In "Yellow Forest," she has used the twist ties to create a field of color and texture that resembles a living wall.
