Art Unleashed Raises More Than $320,000 for Scholarships

The 8th Annual Art Unleashed Exhibition and Sale took place April 6 - 10
and raised more than $320,000 for the Sam S. McKeel Promising Young Artist Scholarship Fund . Nearly 90 percent of our students receive scholarship support, making Art Unleashed our most important fundraising event of the year.

As we celebrate the institution's 140th Anniversary of driving innovation and developing creative leaders - The Maker's Moment - we believe strongly that creativity has never been more important. The amount raised this year will translate into scholarships for many students. It is because of the support from our faithful donors, corporate partners and art patrons that our makers are able to pursue their passions.

UArts 'Z' Big Band Ties for First Place in Monterey Jazz Next Generation Competition, Takes Three Out of Five Soloist Awards

Congratulations to the UArts 'Z' Big Band for finishing in a tie for first place in the College Big Band Division of the Monterey Jazz Festival's Next Generation Jazz Festival , held April 1-2 in Monterey, Calif. Led by Assistant Professor Matt Gallagher MM '01 (Jazz Studies) , the ensemble tied for the top spot with the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
