Summer Time Music on Coronado
Coronado has a tradition of music in the summer time. In the days of Tent City, a variety of music was played. A weekly newspaper was printed that listed all music events happening at Tent City. From Rag Time to classical music, the music variety brought something for all listeners. Henry Ohlmeyer, a prominent musician and conductor led the Ohlmeyer Coronado Band and also the Ohlmeyer Octette. Featured soloists were also invited to sing at Tent City, many invited back each year due to their popularity with the crowds. Concerts were daily, free of charge for all to enjoy.
