Laugh at Rich People Problems with The Royal Family

Like the Kardashians today, the Barrymores were America's 'family to watch' both on stage and off back in the 1920s.

In this comedy, George Kaufman and Edna Ferber disguise the Barrymores as the Cavendishes. And amid all the internal squabbles, enormous egos, and scrapes with the law, you can't help but like them.

With a splendid set designed by Sarah Miecielica, costume design by guest costumer Kim Davis, and lighting design by Bill Banks, The Royal Family is a visual treat as well.

Patrick Sweetman directs the cast that includes Kitty Reel, Kendra Gross, Jim Eernisse, Katie Olsen, Megan Cobb, Tim Newland, Mike Pala, Tosha Kranz, Emmanuel J. Clark, Carlton Thomas, Forrest Rane DeFelise, David Howard, Hunter Finnegan, and Melissa Moon McCollum. Brian Rogers is Stage Manager.

There are four performances coming up:
Thursday, February 11 at 7:00

SORDID LIVES OPENS MARCH 4

It's back and trashy as ever!  Sordid Lives, a hilarious black comedy about white trash - which had a sold out run in the Circle Theatre in 2004 - returns to the MainStage at the CTC by popular demand! Latrelle Williamson is having a bad day. The determindely proper Texan is in denial over the fact that her son might be gay, her only brother (a dedicated Tammy Wynette impersonator) has been confined to a mental institution, and now the whole town is talking about the bizarre accidental death of her mother during a clandestine meeting in a seedy motel room with her much younger, married neighbor. To make matters worse, her sister, LaVonda, wants to bury Momma in a mink stole in the middle of summer!  Rated R for adult language and sexual situations. (This production was being directed by Brother Ron Fender and is now directed by George Quick).

Auditions for the Youth Theatre production of the musical REALLY ROSIE are Monday and Tuesday, February 15 & 16, at 4:30. Remembering Brother Ron

A large crowd from the Theatre, the Community Kitchen, and the neighborhood gathered at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre Tuesday evening to celebrate the life of our beloved friend, Brother Ron Fender. We'll be delivering the socks, shoes, and monetary donations that were collected to the Community Kitchen today. Per a request from the Community Kitchen, we will continue accepting donations of underwear and socks for the Community Kitchen throughout the run of Sordid Lives, which was in rehearsal under Brother Ron's direction at the time of his death, to honor his ministry to Chattanooga's homeless.  The Community Kitchen requests large size underwear for men and women and sturdy white tube sox are best.  We will collect them in our main lobby between March 4 and March 20.

Here's the story WTVC ran  about our event this Tuesday.

Services for Brother Ron will be held 2:00 Saturday, February 13, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
