School Climate Survey

We recognize the importance of asking our community to help us identify the strengths and challenges in the Burlington Township School District. The District is also very interested in finding ways to increase communication and find additional methods of reaching ALL members of our community.  We want to hear from you, so we have adapted this state survey to have you help us by providing essential feedback to also guide efforts that support a healthy climate and culture for our school district. This survey is voluntary and anonymous. We hope you will participate and provide professional and constructive responses in sharing your experiences in our schools. This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

The survey close date has been extended to Sunday, April 8, 2018.  We thank you in advance for taking the time to give us your feedback.

COMMUNITY SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The Burlington Township Environmental Commission is looking for "Block Captains" for our 19 th Annual Burlington Township Cleanup Day.  Once again, they will organize on the neighborhood level all over town and help clean up the trash, paper, recyclables, and other debris that has accumulated in our neighborhoods.  They are also looking for civic groups, church groups, other organizations, and businesses to volunteer to cleanup large areas (for example, Green Acres Park, the Sylvan Lake area, along Routes 130 and 541, etc.).  This event has been a great success and gets larger and better each year. Sign up today and join the fun while you help beautify our little corner of the world.

As a block captain, your duties will be:

1)  Distribute leaflets in your neighborhood asking for volunteers (BT Environmental Commission  will provide leaflets for you).

2)  "Sign up" the volunteers who respond (name and number of
people in family participating should be enough) so they know how
many T-Shirts and other supplies to bring to your central
location.

3)  Distribute bags, gloves, and T-Shirts to participants on day of
event.

T-Shirts For Everyone!
Post-Cleanup get together at Green Acres Park  from 12:00-1:15. Hot dogs and sodas will be served for all participants. There will also be drawings for prizes donated by local merchants and gift certificates.

Residency Fraud
Report it!

We are asking for our residents' assistance in an important matter. The Burlington Township School District continues to remain diligent by investigating   and acting upon reports of residency fraud. We have been made aware of numerous cases of children who reside outside the fraud sign community and illegally attend our schools. This equates to theft of services and taxpayer dollars.

When the District becomes aware of such situations, an investigation is conducted and the appropriate actions are taken, which may include removal of children from school, reporting the incident to the police, pressing disorderly persons charges, and taking action to collect tuition. Over the years we have removed many students for illegal residency, have pressed charges, and assessed tuition.

It is illegal for a Burlington Township resident to allow the use of his/her address or residence by someone who resides outside the District for the sole purpose of allowing non-resident children to attend our schools. The District reports such incidents to the proper authorities, and takes other punitive actions against offenders.

No member of the school community should overlook this type of theft of  community resources. You are encouraged to report suspected incidents of residency fraud to the school principal or Superintendent of Schools. Reports can be made anonymously to the school offices or Superintendent's office at 609-387-3955, Option 6. When a report is made, the District conducts its own investigation. The name of the reporting individual is not necessary or shared with anyone.

Thank you in advance for your partnership in addressing this problem.
