Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Welcome to the new School Year! We are Growing in the Light of Christ this year. This week we reflected on this year's theme at our opening mass, with Fr. Jack encouraging us all, parent, student, and staff, to share our " lights" with each other as we all help each other grow.

As our first newsletter of the year holds many, many important news items, I will keep my message short. K-5 parents, I'll see you tonight at our Curriculum Night. Middle School parents, we will see you next Thursday!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

Specialist Update
Bienvenidos a la Clase de Español – Welcome to the Spanish Class!
Hello Parents from OLG,

Hope everyone had a restful summer break! My summer was a busy one; I had the opportunity to travel with OLG students and parents to Costa Rica. It was an amazing experience. I also had a wonderful time working at a summer camp paddle boarding and spending various weeks with lots of my students.

I am very excited and blessed to be back teaching Pre-K through 8th Grade this year at Our Lady of Guadalupe School. I am delighted to be part of the language learning experience for your children and look forward to helping them on their journey on becoming excited, motivated, and interested in the Spanish culture, art, music, food and geography. My approach to teaching Spanish to the students this year... Mark your calendars: this year's October events are back and better than ever!
Halloween Beer & Brats - Saturday 10/20/2018
Halloween Carnival - Saturday, 10/27/2018

The first-grade class would like to welcome ALL PARENTS of OLG to a brand new Octoberfest-style event on Saturday, Oct. 20th at 2 to 5p.m. It's "Beers & Brats," folks – a Carnival pre-funk! Beer garden on the patio. Brats. Live DJ. Cornhole. No kids! Side-hugging and air-kissing in the fall when we still have the energy to do so.

And speaking of energy, come back the following Saturday for the annual OLG Halloween Carnival on Oct. 27th, at 4 p.m. Get excited for all your favorites: inflatables, professional face painting, live DJ, all your favorite games, and a bigger and better Trunk or Treat! New this year are an indoor dunk tank (wonder which teachers might take a turn in the tank...) and a MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE! That's right sixth, seventh, and eighth graders – take a volunteer shift at the Carnival and stay late for an extra-special dance party in the School Hall. Questions? Want secure your preferred volunteer gig?
Tickets on sale for both events begins 10/1.
