This week, each bag will have six pears, some sweet corn, red peppers, spaghetti squash, carrots, an onion and some eggplant. The Omnivore Shares will get a pound of ground beef and the Vegetarian and Vegan Shares will get some cherry tomatoes and cauliflower.

The Large Shares will get some Heirloom and Roma tomatoes as well as a head of lettuce. The Large Omnivore shares will also get the cauliflower, as well as a pack of Ohio City Provisions' Grass-fed Beef Salami, and the Large Vegetarians will get a quart of Velvet View Plain Yogurt and a half-pint of Wholesome Valley Farm's Rhubarb Jam.

This is the end of the sweet corn season, and it is very difficult to protect these last ears from critters when we raise them GMO-free & organically (read "The Unavoidable Surprise in Organic Corn-- Worms!".) In case you see a little worm wiggling, there is almost always only one and it should just be near the very top of the ear. The rest of the corn is totally safe to eat. Just lop off where the affected part and enjoy the rest. Sweet corn is one of the items in your bag that you should use first-- the closer to harvest time, the sweeter the taste! Just cut away any extra, ahem, protein you might find.
