President's Message

Donna Broderick
Happy New Year from Impact 100!!!!

As we begin 2016, I'd like to wish all our members, nonprofit partners and friends a Happy and Blessed New Year!  I would also like to welcome our newest members who may be receiving this newsletter for the first time.

As we reflect back on what a wonderful year 2015 was for Impact 100 we know we could not have made it happen without our members! THANK YOU! 2015 marked our 14th Anniversary, and the first time we awarded FOUR grants in one year. Following the opportunity to get to know many of our area's Nonprofits and to review over 100 Letters of Intent, Impact 100 awarded grants of $101,000 each to Freestore Foodbank, Activities Beyond the Classroom, May We Help and Supports to Encourage Low Income Families (SELF) our 26th - 29th grants.  This brings the total grant dollars awarded to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky community to over $3.2 Million!!

Another highlight of 2015 was the involvement of many of our members . . . over 100 members participated in Focus Area Committees and CIRC, and many more helped on standing committees.  Our hard-working Board continued to follow our strategic plan working tirelessly to recruit new members and to strengthen the organization.  Finally, Impact 100 continued to strengthen and simplify the grant review process as we further refined the Letter of Intent process, which is now in its third year.

As we transition from 2015 to 2016 I would like to thank outgoing President Sharon Mitchell who has completed a 3 ½ year term as president. Sharon has been integral to our growth during her tenure. We are fortunate that she will remain on the board as Membership Chair.

That brings us to the exciting year ahead in 2016.  We plan to celebrate our 15th anniversary year as we focus on The Power of Women IMPACTing our Community . We are in the final stages of processing our 2016 members, and recruiting has been exceptionally strong.  We are on-track to have the largest grant pool ever - remember 100% of each membership donation goes directly to the annual grant pool.

Please join us on January 21st for our Membership Announcement Event .  We invite ALL our members to come to this free event to learn how much money we will be awarding in 2016 (guests are welcome too!). If you are interested in attending, please register on our web site - http://www.impact100.org .

Sign up NOW to join a Focus Area Committee !  These Committees determine which nonprofit applicants will move forward with the Impact 100 grant review process. There are t wo ways to get involved in this process as an Impact 100 member:
  • Focus Area committees will begin meeting in January to review nonprofit Letters of Intent requesting funding from Impact 100. This is the initial stage of review of applicants.
  • Impact Members will be invited to join a committee again in early April for the review of full grant requests, to make site visits to strongest grant applicants, and determine finalists.
Finally, please join me in extending a special thank you to the seven board members who have so generously given of their time the last few years: Erin Arnold, Kim Corrigan, Andrea Flora, Sandy Greenwald, Lisa Kaminski, Kim Watts McMillan, Jennifer Sheil. We will miss you, and your passion and experience will be missed on the board. Please warmly welcome the seven new members of the Impact 100 Board. Joining the Board for the first time in January will be Kim Carroll, Rhiannon Hoeweler, Teresa Loje, Clare O'Brien, Stephanie Tunison and Mary Beth Young.  We are also delighted that Jenny Berg is once again rejoining the Board.  These seven women bring passion and a breadth of experience as they join the 13 returning Board members - for a very strong 2016 Board.

Giving Tuesday

Impact 100 hosted our fourth annual GivingTuesday* event on December 1st, where over 125 people mixed, mingled, and shared the spirit of GIVING at the Horseshoe Casino!

This event was a huge success, and the energy in the room was incredible! It was great to hear from our Impact 100 Grant Award Recipients, and hear how they spread the joy of their Impact 100 grant. Activities Beyond the Classroom, Easter Seals TriState Building Value, Freestore Foodbank, May We Help, MYCincinnati and SELF ( Supports to Encourage Low-Income Families) are all doing great work in our community, with the help of the transformational grants from Impact 100.

With over 3.2 Million awarded in grants, right here in Greater Cincinnati, WE are making an IMPACT!!

*#GivingTuesday™ (#GT) is a movement started in 2012, to create a national day of giving to kick off the giving season added to the calendar on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Membership Installment Plan
Many thanks to our 2016 Members for helping us transform lives in our community! We'll know soon how many grants we will be awarding...

The new year has barely begun, however we are already planning for 2017 and working on recruiting members for 2016. Want to help? Email [email protected].

Are you ready to renew or begin your Impact 100 Membership? Consider a Membership Payment by Installments: For many of us, it is easier to make smaller payments throughout the year rather than one lump sum around the holidays! Paying by installment is easy to set up and ensures that your membership payment is completed before year end. No need for reminders or invoices. Click here to sign up or contact Daniela Neukam at [email protected] for more details. With twelve months left in the year, your $1000 membership would only be $83.33 per month!

Nonprofit Update

Impact 100 gives a big thank you to all of the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky nonprofits who submitted to the 2016 grant application process. We can't wait to read your letters of intent! If you and your organization would like more information on applying in the future, please contact Sarah Buckley at [email protected]
