November/2013
Welcome to Bailey Bee Supply

Greetings!

I hope this email finds you well and all your bees are healthy this fall. I've been very busy renovating our new store at 1724 S. Saunders StreetWe will officially open Monday November 4, 2013.  Our Raleigh phone number is 919-977-0901.

I'd like to recognize the Chatham County Beekeepers Association for the wonderful dinner at the September meeting.  My wife and I enjoyed sampling the delicious dishes made with honey.  We hope you entered your dishes in the state fair and came away blue ribbon winners.  We also had the pleasure of attending the 5 County Beekeepers Association covered dish at the Bennett Bunn Plantation in Zebulon.  The food, fellowship and venue was wonderful.  Fellow beekeepers, if you're not a member of your local association, you are missing out on great fellowship and educational opportunities.

And last but not least, I'd like to congratulate all the winners at the NC State Fair.  I had an opportunity to work at the bee exhibit and I can tell you a lot of hard work went into the exhibits.  It was great fun talking to people at the exhibit and you get a lot of interesting questions.

The Right Bees For You

by Randall Austin

Ask ten people why they keep bees and you'll get fifteen different answers. Only a very small percentage of people do it as a livelihood or to supplement the income from their day job. Most beekeepers are small-time backyard hobbyists. Some get started because they want pollination for their own little garden. Others enjoy producing unique honey to share with family and friends. There are beekeepers that get satisfaction from engaging in a bit of self-sufficiency. Many like the idea that they are contributing to the environmental health of their local area.

Local Honey for Sale
A special thanks to all of the local beekeepers who have sold their honey to me.  I receive a lot of interest for authentic local honey and it's nice to be able to provide this to the public.  If you are interested in selling your honey to our store for resale, please contact me.

I look forward to seeing you soon!  Like us on Facebook
