MARTIN L. KING, JR. DAY
|FROM THE DESK OF MS. BRESLER...
What a beginning for the New Year! Hopefully the next round of questionable weather will happen over the weekend. Thank you for understanding that weather is unpredictable and whatever decisions are made, they are made to keep our students safe.
2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR REGISTRATION:
You should have received your registration packet earlier this week. It is important that you return your registration form as quickly as possible - especially by Open House on Sunday, January 28. As current members of the St. Veronica School family, you have first choice on holding your spot for the upcoming year. Once Open House hits, it is first come first served. This becomes especially important in grades where the classes are at, or close to, capacity. Once classes are filled students will be put on a waiting list.
Also, don't forget about our Early Tuition Payment Incentive~ Pay your 2018-2019 tuition (plus all fees) in full from January 16 - February 16, 2018 and have your name entered in to win one of 3 tuition rebates up to $3,000!
SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE - ACT NOW!:
Now is the time to apply for the Education Foundation Scholarship (One Hope, One Love, One Faith) through the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. This is easy to do and is done through FACTS. This scholarship can be worth up to $1,000 per student. If you are unsure how to do this, look over the letter that came with your registration papers. If you are still unsure, after reading the paperwork please contact the parish office. Know that the same criteria for the Archdiocesan scholarship is used for parish assistance, so you need only apply once, and you are eligible for both.
The difference is that the Archdiocesan deadline is January 31 and the parish deadline is in May. If you plan on asking for assistance from the parish PLEASE apply for the Archdiocesan scholarship, too.
NOTE: Last year the Archdiocese opened a second scholarship period in February. I would not count on that happening as more and more people learn about the scholarship.
ST. VERONICA OPEN HOUSE:
I hope everyone was able to pick up a yard sign for our upcoming Open House at Mass over the weekend. There are a few left that can be picked up at drop-off and pick-up times. Simply ask school personnel for one and we will get it to you!
You should also be receiving a postcard promoting the Open House, please pass it on to someone you know is looking for an educational partner. If you did not get a postcard in the mail, and would like one to pass on, call the school office. We are expecting a shipment mailed directly to the school.

On a day like today, it's hard to imagine or even think about the upcoming festival. Although we are many months away, it takes a lot of time and effort for planning to ensure its success. After mass at 5:30pm on Saturday, January 13th, we will hold our first planning meeting. This meeting will take place at the Ministry Center and is open to all.
We are the first to share how busy we are and the challenge of juggling multiple priorities. Having just relocated back from Europe, acclimating into jobs and school, and now planning for another move in July, it IS possible to carve out time to help. It was a choice for us to make this festival a priority as the profits provide so much opportunity for the parish and school.
Did you know the festival is the single largest fundraiser for the parish? The profits enable the functioning of our Blue Ribbon School, the completion of several fund capital projects (major roof maintenance, flooring in church, LED lighting investment), and has accelerated our debt repayment. Every dollar helps!
It is our hope to expand the group of volunteers. I personally invite you to the meeting in January to see how you may be able to help. Our ultimate goal is to increase the profits made from the festival which may also require us to make changes. We are hoping for your ideas, community connections and talents to bring this to life.
