Holidays Around The World

We thoroughly enjoyed your children during the Holidays Around The World celebration.  They were curious and eager, bright-eyed, and sweet.  We all hope that you and your family will have a lovely winter holiday break...no matter what holiday you celebrate at your house!

These amazing players and sportsmen are both third grade students....

Dylan Daviduke is Champion of Chess 1, and Ari Laxner is Champion of Chess 2!

These boys join the esteemed ranks of last year's champions Magnus Reed, grade 5, and Evan Huang!

And remember...once a champion, ALWAYS a champion! CONGRATULATIONS!
Mrs. Finwall's Snowball Fight
Our 6th Graders obviously have no fun!
If you are traveling over the holiday break be on the lookout for 2nd grade student, Tank C.

The handsome (and smart) Tank is the model in a Florida Hospital ad which is located at the MCO Airport in baggage claim A, #13.

"Super Seniors" Pop-Up Art Gallery, a visit from the Grinch, and holiday parties galore...  Enjoy this video of a very festive and jubilant week
at Park Maitland School!
Author and Park Maitland family alum, Ms. Yvonne David entranced our third grade students last Friday as she shared her wonderful book,  Out of the Apple Orchard, and answered questions about her journey as a writer.

Out of the Apple Orchard is inspired by Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and explores similar themes of hunger, forgiveness, healing, and new beginnings.

"In the fall of 1910, a Jewish family, who recently immigrated from the Old Country, moves from the Lower East Side of New York City to the hamlet of Mountaindale in the Catskills for the fresh country air. Papa is too sick to work and food is scarce. On his way to school, twelve-year-old Adam Bieman is hungry and sees the apples in the Friedland orchard. He cannot resist the ripe red fruit.  Soon his troubles begin..."

Don't miss this amazing opportunity!
Ms. Davis has extended a generous offer to Park Maitland families -- 40% of book sales purchased by Park Maitland families will be given to our school. Please go to  www.appletreeseries.com  and click on the  Shop Online  icon on the left-hand side. When purchasing a book from this  website, please mention PMS after the purchaser's name.

Additionally, Park Maitland School families are invited to see the debut of Out of the Apple Orchard live at Orlando Rep!

The Orlando premiere of  Out of the Apple Orchard , involving a triple award-winning team, author Yvonne David, playwright Ellen W. Kaplan, and director Kenny Howard, a Tony Award-winning producer, will be held at the Orlando Repertory Theatre.

Monday, December 19 to Thursday, December 22, 2016

This is a wonderful opportunity for students to see how a work of literature is adapted to and performed on the stage, and a special treat for the whole family to enjoy during the break.

The discount code for four tickets is BUY2GET2.

The net proceeds of the Orlando premiere will benefit Jewish Family Services Orlando and St. Vincent de Paul Society.

You can purchase tickets by calling  407-437-4909 or at the links below:
