The Tradition of the Crayfish Party
The Swedes are in the middle of the crayfish season. The typical Swedish tradition of crayfish parties is now at its peak, and one party succeeds another.
Social media is overflowing of pictures and updates from Swedes celebrating the party significant for being the last big party of the summer; after crayfish season comes fall.
The tradition is to gather your group of friends for a feast of as many crayfish you can eat, while wearing funny looking hats, and drinking the mandatory schnapps at the same time as everyone sings silly drinking songs.

Election to the Swedish Parliament
A month from now, September 14th, it's time for the next general election to the Parliament in Sweden. Everyone, 18 and older, has the right to vot  e, and are encouraged to do so. Swedes living abroad can vote too!
Some places in the US have a given location where you can vote, click this link to search for a location near you. If there's no given location close to you, the best way is to vote by post. If you are registered in the Swedish national registration with your current address, a voting card will be sent to you with the right material for voting by post. If you are not registered, please click the same link above to learn more about how you can order ballots and a postal voting package to your home address.

What is the Transatlantic Trade
and Investment Partnership?
The last couple of months, there have been a lot of buzz around TTIP (the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership).
SACC-Georgia is highlighting the important topic by having two TTIP related events in the upcoming month of September.
Reason being, TTIP aims to remove trade barriers in a wide range of economic sectors to make it easier to buy and sell goods between the European Union and the United States, which furthermore will be beneficial for both parties.
The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership are currently being negotiated between the EU and the US.
