Member Opportunities

MELODY VALVE PETITION

Join with the Chris and Ashley Miles family to get the word out about the

Melody Valve. Hundreds of babies born each year need new mitral valves, and dozens who have little chance for long-term survival have received a Melody valve. By and large, these valves and children have been doing extraordinarily well. The Melody valve is not currently FDA approved for this use. We need to change this to save the lives of children who need it. UAF is partnering with the Miles' family to help get the word out. We need signatures and support to help us further the effort. Sign the petition here!

iPads4Angels Deadline
Applications due by Friday, August 1, 2014

iPads4Angels is a program to equip special education classrooms with valuable technology aids, demonstrate the effectiveness of using iPads in special education, and encourage schools to invest in new technology for the education of children with special needs.

Special education teachers can apply to have as many iPads as needed for their classrooms. If accepted into the program, UAF will grant iPads for one year to the special education class. Educators must reapply each year.

In order to qualify for the program, special education teachers must be sponsored by a UAF member who has a child in that classroom that will benefit from the device. Please get the word out, and contact your special education teachers this summer. The application deadline is August 1st!

The application can be downloaded here.
