Dear Friends,

We have been very busy here at REACH Prep since our last update in March. Our Directors of Middle and High School Programs have been meeting regularly with our students about summer opportunities, test preparation, course selection, financial aid and much more. In April, we accepted our newest group of 4th graders, Cohort 24, to join our growing community of over 250 Scholars. On April 24, we held our largest fundraising event of the year with over 650 people in attendance.

I hope you enjoy reading the highlights of our programming over the last few months, and I look forward to seeing you at a community, Scholar or family event this summer!

With gratitude,

Gina Lucas
Chief Executive Officer

REACH Prep High School Seniors Off to College

REACH Prep's high school seniors have been working hard all year taking rigorous courses, completing the college admissions process and being leaders at their schools. REACH Prep's high school class of 2017 consists of a talented and diverse group of students. Some of these students are accomplished artists in theater, a cappella groups and jazz bands. Others are gifted athletes in sports such as wrestling, tennis, baseball, lacrosse, soccer and football. They are aspiring entrepreneurs, engineers and teachers and spend much of their time volunteering for causes about which they are passionate. These students collectively share a total of 77 college acceptances which include top schools like Middlebury College, Georgetown University, Bryn Mawr College, Boston College, Wesleyan University, Williams College and Cornell University. Congratulations to the high school class of 2017!
In Case You Missed It...

On Monday, April 24th REACH Prep held it's Annual Benefit Luncheon with over 650 supporters, students, school administrators, community partners and parents in attendance. We heard from inspiring author, actress and educator Sonia Manzano, as she shared her inspiring anecdotes about growing up in the South Bronx and her transformation into the Emmy-award winning writer and actress she is today. Our Luncheon program also featured our Prep Academy students, two current REACH Prep Scholars as well as three REACH Prep alumni who shared with us their stories and perspectives about how REACH Prep has shaped them into the students, professionals and people they are today.
