VOLUNTEERING
Parent volunteers needed for Student Summit Planning Committee
Parent volunteers are needed to help plan and develop three days of relevant, inspiring and college planning related activities for our Grade 9-12 students on September 5-7, the start of the new school year.
The Committee's first meeting will be held during Focus Week next month between May 23th-25th.
The volunteers will work directly with counselor Lis Christiansen and utilize the template and contacts that have been established from the previous two very successful years of implementation.
If you are interested in joining this committee, you must be the parent of a 9-12 th  grade student next year and be available for the first meeting, future planning meetings and to assist at the event, September 5-7, 2017.
Please email Kathy Thompson and Julie Kotler,   to express your interest in helping with this event.
We hope to have a mix of parents from all high school grades who can help.

Volunteer Chaperones Needed For Grades 6-7-8 Camp in September 2017
Camp will be September 6-8, 2016 at Camp  Cispus  near Randle, Washington. We need 17 parent chaperones to attend camp with the students and staff. Please apply via email by May 19.
Requirements:
  • 6 Male chaperones
  • 6 Female Chaperones
  • Male or Female Chaperones (Kitchen help for mealtimes, no cabin duty)
  • 1 parent (preferably a nurse or doctor) to offer first aid for campers
  •  Approximately 6 of the chaperones need to be available to leave for camp on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 5 to drive the camp counselors and several staff to camp to set up. On that afternoon, we need one of those parents to drive a trailer (or large pick-up) with supplies to the camp also. These chaperones will return home Friday afternoon with the camp counselors and staff after the camp is cleaned up and the supplies reloaded in the trailer.
  • The remaining parent chaperones will be leaving the school early on Wednesday, September 6 with the camper students and the remainder of the staff on buses. This group will also return on Friday late afternoon.
  • Parent chaperones are responsible for their cabin groups at night and attend to their assigned groups during the daytime leading them to class locations. Campers attend classes and activities during the day that are led by student counselors; parent chaperones are usually free during the class time.
  • Kitchen help at mealtimes works with the Camp Cispus kitchen staff and are bunked in with the other parents.
  • All parent chaperones will attend an informational meeting before we leave for camp on August 30, 2017 at 5pmThis meeting is followed by the general parent meeting for camp at 6pm. This is the same date that ICS registration day is expected to be on.
