Dragon Happenings
Dear Imagine Families,
 Last week our staff attended an Imagine Forum for all Florida and South Carolina schools. The Founders- Dennis and Eileen Bakke, as well as the senior team from the home office presented an overview of the company and plans for the future. Schools were recognized for attaining a grade of A in 4 of Imagine's Six Measures.
Imagine Land O Lakes was recognized for attaining an A in
- Shared Values
- Parent Choice
- Character Program and
- Academic Growth
These grades resulted in being named Runner Up for Most Improved School nationally!
Our staff returns to work this week and will participate in a week of pre-planning and professional development. The new Common Core Standards require us to utilize new instructional teaching methods/strategies, and new instructional materials.
The Principal job opening here at Land O Lakes has been posted, and resumes are coming in. This week the staff will assist me in developing a transition plan for the day to day oversight of the school until a Principal is identified. I remain as Principal, and I'm also providing assistance and oversight to five other Imagine Schools in the West Florida Region as Region Director. Aimee Williams, in her new role as Academic Dean, will be principal designee whenever I'm not on campus.
We're excited to welcome back our students in just one week!
Please let us know if your child will not be coming to Imagine in August. We have over 700 students registered for the start of the school year, and many students on the waiting list. Thank you to those parents that informed us that they would not be returning so we could call the next name on that grade's waiting list. If any parent knows their child will not be returning, please let us know as soon as possible.

Meet and Greet
| 
This Wednesday, August 14th, you and your student are invited to visit campus for our 2013 Meet N Greet.
Our facilities will be open from 9-11:30am and again from 1-4:30pm. This format is designed for our students and families to complete paperwork required by the school and have an opportunity to meet their teachers.
In an effort to manage time expectations, we ask all students to come prepared with the following:
- Student information (DOB, Social Security #, Student ID#, Dr and Dentist #s)
- Student medical records (proof of immunizations if needed)
- Cash or Check (registration fees, dress down cards, MS PE Uniforms, Spirit Shirts etc)
- Student information cards will need to be filled out and fees paid prior to the release of class rosters.
Please plan on 10-20 minutes for this process.

|  The links to the supply lists are provided below. Each grade level has different requirements. The elementary supply lists were revised last week.
Parents may opt to write a check for $50 in lieu of bringing in supplies to the elementary grades.

Free Money to Imagine
|  Target donates a percentage of every purchase made by Red Card holders to a designated school. Imagine received a check for $1197 last August, and we've accumulated almost $1900 for the next distribution. This money comes from 79 card holders that designated Imagine.
Parents and staff may want to consider signing up for a Red Card so that every time you shop at Target, you receive a 5% discount, and the school receives free money.

Volunteer Application
| 
Per Florida State law, school volunteers must be background checked each year. The year starts July 1 and runs through June 30. Every parent must reapply each summer to be on the volunteer list at Imagine. Our volunteer background checks are completed by the Pasco School district and parents can apply online.
