Updates from ASB

As we transition into October, a few more events are on the way:

October 12th, Wednesday - ASB Senator Elections will be held during homeroom. In the last few ASB meetings, members have been introduced to the club, divided into committees, and given senator applications. Applications were due on October 6th.

October 18th, Tuesday, the Author's Society Bake Sale will take place during the PTSA meeting, so don't miss the fundraiser and support the club!

Summer and Focus Week Photos for Yearbook

Parents - the Yearbook is in desperate need of summer and Focus Week 2016 photos to put in our upcoming yearbook. This is a great opportunity to share pictures of your students doing fun and interesting activities from this past summer or during the 2016 Focus Week. Photos could include interesting trips, hobbies, volunteer work, sports, etc.

Please send photos that have clear shots (usually 2MB are the best size) and provide a description of what's happening and who's in the photo. Thanks for your help! Send photos to Laura Wendt by October 21st.

Donate pumpkins for National Art Honor Society (NAHS)

The National Art Honor Society is seeking interested parents to donate pumpkins to collectively complete a total of 30 for joint event of NAHS and SNHS (Science National Honors Society) on Friday, October 28th . If you are interested in donating any number of pumpkins, please contact Jordan Weed before Thursday, October 27th .

Class of 2017 Poinsettia Sale

We are continuing the popular tradition of selling beautiful potted poinsettias from the family-owned and operated Squak Mountain Nursery in Issaquah. This fundraiser helps offset the cost of graduation for the Class of 2017. These are high quality plants and come in three colors - red, white, or pink. Cost per 6.5" Pot: $16

Ordering is easy! You may place an order with any senior class student or download the online order form from the ICS PTSA website.

If you use the online order form, please place all cash/checks in a small envelope and staple the envelope to the order form BEFORE turning it in. Please submit your orders to the ICS office no later than Friday, October 28th. Please make checks payable to ICS PTSA with "Class of 2017 Plant Sale" in the memo line.

Plant pickup is Wednesday, Dec. 7th, 12 noon at ICS. Email Leanne Cornel for questions.

45th and 48th Legislative District Candidate Forum

Washington State PTA Legislative Assembly - October 21-22 in Olympia

You can help set the agenda for Washington State PTA's priorities when working with the state legislature this year. The Washington State PTA is hosting a Legislative Assembly and Advocacy Training in Olympia on Friday and Saturday, October 21-22, 2016. This two-day assembly and training costs $170 per adult and will be held at the Olympia Red Lion hotel. Our PTSA organization can send up to 7 delegates, but we only have budget to reimburse one person for the registration fee (not hotel/travel). If you are interested, please let Oystein Harsvik know, so he can submit your name as a voting delegate for ICS PTSA. Click here for additional information.
