Dear Parents and Students,

Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes that you have showered upon me these last two months. I am so pleased to be returning on Monday, March 12th. I am most appreciative for the support I’ve received from the staff and families of St. Bernard’s. Ms. Paredes has been so caring and responsive to my needs throughout my recovery and that has been wonderful. In addition, we have been very blessed to have highly skilled substitutes guiding the students during my absence.

I am most excited and energized to resume teaching, especially interacting with the students on a daily basis. I have missed them greatly!

Together we will guide the students to understand the message of peace and love that the approaching Easter Season brings.

May the Lord bless your home with happiness and unwavering faith.

Sharen Petrig

On Monday, March 5th we conducted a lockdown drill under the supervision of members of the Tracy SWAT team and our safety committee. The feedback we received was positive. We were encouraged to have conversations about possible emergency scenarios and conduct practices more frequently to be as prepared as we can be.

FOR 2018-2019
St. Bernard's Catholic School is currently accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year. If you would like your child to attend Kindergarten, he or she must be 5 years old by September 1, 2018.   You may complete the online application and we will contact you to schedule an interview.  We are also accepting applications for other grades. However, be aware that your child may be placed on a waiting list. We currently have more applicants than openings for 2018-2019.

Applying is easy using our Online Application . We encourage families to apply online as it simplifies submission and provides parents a tool for tracking online the status of their admission after their application has been submitted.
Go to and click on the Apply Here! green button. A non-refundable fee of $50 must be submitted with each application.

Our Spell-A-Thon will be held Friday, March 23rd.
Packets went home last Monday, March 5th.

When sponsoring your student, you can sponsor per word correct or a flat rate for the entire test. 80% of what you bring in goes towards your profit obligation which is due April 30th.

The best part of this fundraiser is that the kids themselves make it happen. The test will be administered in class on March 23rd. Their hard work is what pays off for our school. Each student that receives 100% correct will be recognized during a special assembly.

All money must be turned in by Friday, April 13th. Get out there; get those pledges and SPELL, SPELL, SPELL.
