BPA On the Air:  Radio host Elaine Womack of station KBFG 107.3FM is covering BPA events. Her show "Exit Stage Left" highlights local performing arts programs and airs  Wednesdays at 6 pm and Fridays at 8 am weekly.  Recently she recorded a PSA for the Spring Concerts and now she is covering the Fiddle Showcase.Thank you to Elaine for media coverage!

Pep in the Park:  Come to Golden Gardens on Sunday the 17th at12:30 pm for a pep band performance. Bring a snack to share or just drop by. It's Father's Day so bring your dad. This is a non school event. Just for fun. For questions, please contact Mara.

Final '17-'18 Board Meeting: The final board meeting of the year is June 26th at 6:30 pm. Formally we will welcome new board members, officially vote them in and, peruse the newly formed budget and plans for next year. Informally we will celebrate and thank everyone for their considerable efforts. This meeting will be at a parent home. Contact Ann Selberg  for directions.

Ballard High Director of Choirs, Courtney Rowley, was recently featured on Nancy Guppy's program "Art Zone". The video is, available to VIEW HERE . Clips of Courtney working with her choirs are interspersed with interview segments and performance videos. It's thrilling to have her hard work and love of music recognized. Last fall she was awarded the Elliott Bay Music Educator Association (EBMEA) Outstanding Educator award for her commitment to her students and her colleagues in music education. Ballard High is fortunate to have her on staff and her recognition this year is well-deserved

Chamber Orchestra Auditions:  Monday and  Tuesday, June 11th and June 12th. Please see Ms. Newell to sign up. 

The Fiddlers: The  5th annual Fiddle Showcase concert at the  Ballard Homestead  on Friday, June 8th at 7 pm.  The  local Ballard-area radio station  KBFG 107.3 ( fulcrumcc.org featured the group recently on the show "Exit Stage Left" in a segment.

Local bluegrass band The Warren G Hardings will follow up, and the night will conclude with a square dance played by the Ballard Fiddlers. No dance experience necessary, all dances taught that evening.
Band 
Spring Band Concert and Senior Night is tonight: Join us at 7:30 pm for the final concert of the year. Help us celebrate an incredible year for the Band program and say goodbye to our Seniors. Goodies for the Bake Sale gladly accepted. Sign up HERE. Reserved seats available HERE

Uniform Return: All Seniors and Symphonic Band members, as well as Percussionists not participating in the Graduation ceremony, will return their concert attire after the performance. Please bring a change of clothes with you. Volunteers are needed to help with the return process.

Wind Ensemble and Selected Percussionists to Perform at Graduation: The call time is 7 pm for the graduation performance on Monday, June 18 at Memorial Stadium. The ceremony starts at 8 pm. and is expected to conclude by 10 pm. Students are responsible for their own transportation. Please remember to bring a change of clothes as concert attire will be turned in immediately following the ceremony.

Band Auditions Happening Now: While no audition is needed for the new Concert Band, auditions are required for placement in either Symphonic or Wind Ensemble. Sign up here for your specific audition date and time between now and June 14th. Audition packets were distributed in class or are available from Mr. James. More information about Percussion and Jazz Band auditions. Be sure to sign up separately through the appropriate Signup genius links! Good luck, have fun and be prepared.

Disney Dates Announced: Members of the 2018-2019 Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will experience the magic of Disney April 5th-8th, 2019. Workshops with Disney musicians, performances in the parks, and 3-Day Park Hopper passes are just a few of the items included in the estimated $1100 trip cost. More details will be announced soon.

Parents/Guardians, Do you want to join the fun for an estimated reduced cost of $600? Contact Jen Witeck today as we need 6 male and 6 female volunteers to make this trip happen.

Chaperones Needed for Band Camp: Want to relive your youth by spending a fun weekend away at camp? Join the Band for free at Camp Seymour in Gig Harbor the afternoon of Friday, Sept 7 through Sunday, Sept 9th, 2019! We need more help than ever with our growing program, so contact Jen Witeck to volunteer today.

We sold a total of 41 mattresses, 3 adjustable frames, and assorted other pillows and sheets. Way to go everyone!
