Many of you have started supporting the victims for the North Bay fires. FEMA has declared that individual and business' losses will be covered. Our friends and neighbors will need support for the months to come, if not years. See below for a partial list of places to contribute.
The city council has decided to allow food trucks to operate year round on Thursday evenings. A decision that pleases many residents, but has some of our restaurants very concerned.

This is a very partial list of places that have set up funds for disaster relief.
Bay Area American Red Cross provide volunteers and supplies to the shelters

A multitude of restaurants, hotels, corporations are making donations and providing resources to the victims. A coming article in Wednesday Lamorinda Weekly lists local initiatives coming from schools, businesses and individuals. You can also sign-up to open your home for free on Airbnb for evacuees or relief workers

Your Chamber of Commerce annual membership meeting is an opportunity for all chamber members to come and listen to the presentation of the state of the association, and start discussing objectives for the coming year.
This is the perfect opportunity to hear what is going to happen in the coming year that will affect Orinda businesses, and debate what directions your chamber should focus on.
The meeting is also an opportunity to mingle and meet other Orinda business owners and city officials. All chamber members are encouraged to attend!

Republic Services and Recycle Smart are offering a $1,500 grant Projects must be related to recycling, composting or other waste-reduction initiatives. These can be new projects or existing projects that need some help expanding.

Women's Wellness 101
Monday, October 16, 6:30pm-8:00pm, Ball Auditorium at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek
Assemblywoman Baker is hosting a women's health event in partnership with John Muir Health called Women's Wellness 101. The event is on Monday, October 16th from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the Ball Auditorium at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The event will include a panel comprising of a cardiologist, a breast cancer physician, and a Ob/Gyn doctor. We will also have blood pressure screenings and a self-breast exam booth.

Contra Costa County Strategic Prevention Plan - ADAPT

Come join fellow Lamorinda community members on October 19 from 5:30-7:45 to help with the creation of the 2018-2023 Contra Costa County Strategic Prevention Plan. The plan dictates where the County's prevention efforts will be focused when it comes to
reducing underage substance use and prescription drug misuse and abuse. The ADAPT (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Team) Lamorinda Coalition follows this Strategic Prevention Plan
