Rite Aid pharmacy in Orinda is hosting its annual Children's Miracle Network campaign and seeking out local businesses for donations. For a $100 or greater donation Rite Aid would display a large balloon decal in the front of our store to advertise your business. It will be displayed for the next month and a half.  Rite Aid has a goal to reach of $5000.

The funds raised locally go to UCSF and Children's Hospital in Oakland. The hospital uses the money to provide highly specialized medical care, to fund research for life saving treatments and cures, and to provide outreach and education programs that help prevent injuries and illness.

Rite Aid has been an official sponsor of children's miracle network hospital since 1994 and with the help of our customers, suppliers and our partners in the community, Rite Aid raised over $75 million for children's hospitals.

Children's miracle network hospital is classified as an exempt organization  under section 501 (C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible depending on your personal situation, so be sure to check with your accountant or tax advisor for IRS regulations regarding tax deductible donations. The organization is filed under Osmond foundation for the children of the world, children's miracle network hospitals and the federal tax ID number is 87-0387205.

This is both Easter weekend and tax filing time - "bittersweet chocolate"? Bittersweet also describes the effort to realize hopes; lofty goals of great merit conjoined with effort and anguish on the road to making a new reality. That was the feeling I had as I heard about the exciting potential of downtown Orinda at the Urban Land Institute initial findings presentation last Tuesday. Please contribute to the dialog, respect others and the process, to realize the hopes - after all, that's just life.
