Feb 15, 2017
Some exciting events are proposed by your chamber in the next 2 weeks: Wild Magnolia ribbon cutting on Fat Tuesday 2/28 and Business Award Luncheon along with the state of the City presentation with Mayor Eve Philips on March 1st. We are counting on you to come and have a good time.

In the meantime your chamber representatives have started meeting with the city planning department and National Main Street Center for the Downtown Orinda Market Analysis and Transformation Strategy. Do not hesitate to contact the Board President if you want to share thoughts about what downtown development should or should not be.

Mark your calendar for Friday April 14 and the 2017 edition of the Trivia Bee and for the Restaurant Tour on Tuesday May 2nd.

Vote for your Favorite Orinda Businesses

It's time for you to vote for your East Bay favorites and the East Bay to vote for you!  By clicking here you can cast your ballot and use Diablo magazine's Voting Kit.  The Voting Kit is designed to help you reach customers through social media, digital advertising, email blasts, and in-store promotion.

The Best of the East Bay winners are determined by counting the number of unique votes each business receives within a category.  If your category is not represented, please write it in at the end of the ballot for consideration. Vote by March 5!

City News: Camp fair on 2/25

The Orinda Parks and Recreation Department is excited to host the 3rd Annual Summer Camp Fair this year on February 25. We inaccurately referred to the Fair as the 2nd Annual in a previous Outlook edition and although this is the second year of the event being strictly "summer camp-focused", this is the third year we are hosting this type of event. This year's fair will run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Orinda Community Center located at 28 Orinda Way. This is the time to learn more about all of the amazing programs offered through the summer with the City of Orinda. Meet summer camp day staff plus a variety of specialty camp instructors and get all your questions answered in person. Those that attend and register at the fair will receive an additional 10% off summer camp registration fees (materials fees are not included in the 10% off). If you have any questions, please contact the front desk at (925) 254-2445 or email
orindaparksrec@cityoforinda.org .

Lamorinda Business Women meeting on 2/17

This new group is opened to all business women in Lamorinda. The purpose is to meet, network and hear a speaker on a business topic. The next meetup is about the "Business Value Proposition" with Jan Hedquist, SCORE mentor, former Vice President of BBDO Worldwide, President of Ketchum Advertising and Vice-Chairman of Young&Rubicam Europe. Jan will address how to build a powerful statement that defines the benefit provided by your business, for who, and how you do it uniquely well. The Business Value Proposition is a marketing tool describing your target customers, the problems you solve, and why you're distinctly better than the alternatives. The presentation will be followed by a networking session in small groups. This event is opened to all Lamorinda business women. It is held from 9 to 11 a.m.  in the office of County Supervisor Candace Andersen, at 3338 Mt. Diablo Blvd. in Lafayette. Parking in El Charro lot across the boulevard.

Seeing trees in blossom reminds us to look forward to spring, finally. But, we are all dealing with mixed blessings from the winter storms and the damage they have caused locally and across the nation. The Chamber has events planned for March April and May that will provide opportunities to get out, come together, and dispel the "hangover" from what may have been a winter of discontent.

Thank you to our
 Ehnhanced members
