Your Chamber started the pre-Spring season with two very lively events: the ribbon cutting for new restaurant Wild Magnolia that took place on Feb. 28 and today March 1st at 11:30 will start the Business Awards and State of the City Luncheon at the Community Center. If you have not already bought your ticket, you may take a chance and come to the door, you might get a seat! Congratulations again to our awardees, Land Home Financial Services, Sanvitalia Home & Garden and ambassador extraordinaire Susan Garell. Check our social media pages for pictures and videos.
This month take advantage of the free social media training sponsored by the three Lamorinda Chamber: Instagram is on the menu, a very good media to tell your stories with images and videos and remind everyone that shopping local is interesting and fun.
The chamber continues to partner with the city and to offer its perspective regarding matters of downtown development. We also welcome Steve Salomon, the interim city manager who replaced retiring Janet Keeter.
This month your chamber will work with the Orinda Association to engage the city as it makes a decision regarding banner policy. If you want to have your voice heard with staff and/or elected officials, the chamber is here to help. Email: [email protected]

Trivia Bee on April 14: start getting your team together!
This classic competition to support local charities is 2 months away: the number of teams is limited.
The teams of up to 6 people battle in a fierce trivia competition of wit led a professional trivia company.
The event is exciting, dinner is provided, as well as fun for everyone.
A perfect event for a company, an organization, or a group of friends with a competitive spirit.
The winning team takes a cash prize for the non-profit of their choice.
$360/Team
I was reminded by several recent meetings that America still has that "can do" spirit.
One elected official made clear that progress requires dialog about how to benefit constituents while ensuring full transparency of the impartial process leading to legislation. Best effort should be rewarded!
The same is true of all the wonderful Orinda volunteers who see a problem and choose to own actions that find a better way, together.
