Dear Cody Country Chamber of Commerce member:
I am writing to let you know that, regretfully, I have accepted the resignation of our executive director, Scott Balyo.
Scott has been with the chamber since June, 2011 and has done a great job. He has accepted a position at Michigan Technological University, and while this represents an exciting career opportunity for him, the primary reason he is leaving is to be closer to his family in the Midwest.
His last day at the chamber will be Friday, May 29, but in the meantime, your board of directors will be working diligently to find his replacement. As you know, these things take time, so I am asking for your patience and support during this transition. We have a very strong and experienced team at the Chamber and do not expect any reductions in the services provided.
Below is some important information about the search process and this interim period:
-
Your board of directors will be fully supporting the chamber staff. The staff at the chamber is experienced, professional, and committed to providing you with the level of service you have come to expect from our organization. That will not change.
-
We will review the job description for the executive director to ensure the duties match the needs of our members. We will form a selection committee and begin a thorough search for the right person to lead this organization.
-
As we work through the process, we will let you know about the progress we are making, and you will have the opportunity to meet the final candidates and provide us with feedback.
-
We promise to work as efficiently as possible, while taking the appropriate amount of time needed to complete this process the right way.
Again, I want to thank Scott for his leadership to the Cody Chamber. He also wants me to express his sincere gratitude to you, the members, who make this the best chamber of commerce in the Cowboy State. Thank you for your continued membership and support. We couldn't do what we do without you.
Sincerely,
Scott Wagner President, Cody Country Chamber of Commerce Owner, Buffalo Jump Winery

Help the Rotary Club of Cody send ShelterBoxes to earthquake victims in Nepal. Make a tax-deductible donation towards the purchase of a ShelterBox ($1,000 each) with cash, credit card, or by writing a check payable to "The Cody Rotary Club Foundation." Donations are being collected by Bruce Eldredge, President of the Rotary Club of Cody. Contact Bruce at 307-578-8653. Each ShelterBox, tailored to the particular disaster, typically contains a relief tent for an extended family (for approximately 10 people), blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children's activity pack, and other essential items. Since its founding in 2000, ShelterBox has responded to more than 200 natural disasters and humanitarian crises in almost 90 countries, providing vital aid for well over 1 million people. A highly trained ShelterBox response team, composed mainly of volunteers, distributes ShelterBoxes at the site of a disaster, working closely with local organizations, international aid agencies, and a global network of volunteers.
