WORSHIP NEWS

Christmas Cantata Rehearsals

Christmas Cantata rehearsals started on Wednesday October 19th at 6:45PM downstairs in the music room and we would LOVE to include you ALL! Music is a vital ministry that belongs to ALL people of God no matter how "talented" you think you are. Join us for the special opportunity to lift your hearts and voices to Him, draw closer to Him, celebrate the season together, and align your heart with the true reason for the season. The music will ground and anchor you with the Christmas message of love, hope, and redemption-the heart of the Christmas story and the heartbeat of a loving God.

Rehearsals are Wednesday nights at 6:45PM downstairs in the music room. You will receive rehearsal CD's to help learn your parts when absent. Please don't let missing a few rehearsals deter you from joining. An important Dress Rehearsal is scheduled for Saturday, December 17th from 10:00AM-12:00N. The glorious presentation is Sunday, December 18th at all three services!

Childcare will be available throughout the entire process, including Wednesday rehearsals, Dress Rehearsal, day of presentation, for the instrumentalists, etc. We are so grateful for this amazing gift!
Instrumentalists: Please let me know if you are interested in participating so I can start preparing parts, filling holes, etc.

On a quiet night in Bethlehem, the world longed for hope, hearts ached for redemption in the midst of despair; and an unstoppable LOVE broke through the darkness, revealing an everlasting LIGHT...God's glory found its place in a humble manger!

Thanks to ALL for your support and infinite enthusiasm to share God's love through music!

The Bells of Immanuel

Immanuel's celebrated handbell choir rings recognizable church music, including traditional repertoire, classical sacred literature, and more recent compositions. The Bells of Immanuel rehearse on Sundays from 9:15-10:15AM downstairs in the music room. No musical training is necessary!!! If you can't commit to every Sunday, talk to director Ellen Hanson about being a bell substitute ringer! Contact Ellen at ellen.hanson@aurora.org if you are interested or just show up for rehearsal. She will show you how to ring and which part to read.

The Children's Message at the 8:15 service is on a voluntary basis. Please contact Sarah Beauregard at 262-248-4211 if you are interested in helping out.

Praise Team: Rehearses Wednesdays, 8:00 PM

Praise Team members vibrantly lead contemporary worship songs each week at 9:45 and 11:07, help lead special services throughout the year, and represent Immanuel in the community. We are blessed immeasurably by their dedication and superb leadership! Weekly rehearsals are Wednesday nights at 8:00PM! Some musical training is necessary and members are required to attend rehearsals. Contact John Ivan at music@immanuellg.org if you are interested in joining the team!

Special Music

Special music offerings throughout the year offer depth and variety to worship, and allow numerous people an opportunity to share their musical gifts at Immanuel. We are blessed through solos, duets, special anthems, and Sunday School Singers that inspire and bring us to tears! Vocalists and instrumentalists are encouraged to share their God given talents as musical offerings. Please contact John Ivan at music@immanuellg.org to schedule a time to share your unique gifts at Immanuel!

Prayer Requests

We appreciate all of your prayer requests each week! We want to continue praying for all individuals because we know how powerful prayer is in the lives of so many. It has been a struggle to keep the list up to date, so we have come up with a plan to keep the list current from month to month. On the first of the new month, we will restart the prayer list. If someone needs to stay on the list, just let Brenda know by using the worship card found in the weekly bulletin, calling the church office (262.248.4211), emailing Brenda at secretary@immanuellg.org, or dropping off a note in the church office. We want your requests, so we can continue praying for those in need. Contact Brenda if you have any questions.

Electronic Giving

Throughout the year, if you can't make it to church we encourage you to automate your regular donations. Immanuel relies on the consistent financial support of the congregation and electronic giving offers an easy way to give on a recurring basis. Visit www.Immanuellakegeneva.org or contact the church office for more information. We have authorization forms in the church office. We thank you for your continued support!

Weekly Giving Envelopes

We are always thankful for your gifts of offering. Thank you for using your giving envelopes! The giving envelopes add efficiency to the counting process on Sundays by eliminating the need to look up names and envelope numbers. Thank you for your generosity. If you would like to give on-line, please see the Electronic Giving article above.

THANKS

+ Special thanks to Alexander McGiluray for playing bagpipes on October 9th at all three services! He played "Amazing Grace" with the unique sound of the bagpipes and it certainly stirred our emotions! Thanks for offering your very special talent to bring praise and glory to God!

+ A big thank you to Jerry Steinke for providing our Immanuel community with the beautiful calendars for 2017. They can be picked up on a table opposite the Welcome center.

+ Thanks to Jubilate choir for offering the evocative and tender anthem, "Healing Is in Your Hands" on October 9th! We were blessed by their lush harmonies, expressive melodies, and poignant text. The group blessed us at all three services; we are incredibly grateful for their gift!

+ Pastor Rich, Kathy Middleton, Rick Ruby, Ken Field and volunteers: Thank you for the beautiful service you held for our father. Thank you for all of your kindness, the wonderful food and all the kind words during our time of sorrow.

+ To the Quilters of Immanuel, I just wanted to thank you for the very beautiful quilt I won at the raffle. It was purple/gold and I so appreciate all you do! Suzy Nelson.

+ Special thanks to Adam Smith and Heidi Otterness for offering a poignant tribute entitled "There She Stands" on September 11th. Their duet closed the 2nd and 3rd services as we remembered all those affected by the horrific attack on 911. Thanks for sharing your fabulous talents at Immanuel!

+ To my Immanuel Family, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the love and support, the prayers, the heartfelt cards and all the care we received during Nan's illness and after she passed!! We felt each thought and prayer. God is so good and so are each of you! Blessings M.J & Dennis Lyon
