No Shortage of Media Coverage at 2016 World Tournament
by Tina Hawkins , 2nd VP, Publicity/Promotion Director
The 2016 World Tournament in Montgomery, AL, did not have a shortage of media attention!

Coverage began DAYS before the tournament started, on Thursday, July 21, with WSFA 12 News' live interview with Bethany Davis at 6:30 a.m. followed by Bethany's live Facebook feed on the courts. Later that same morning was the Thursday morning Mayor's press conference, which primarily featured the World Tournament. That media event was immediately followed by "media day" on the courts where several local and state newspapers, radio and television reporters gathered to shoot video, snap pictures and interview NHPA officials and pitchers.

You may recall that the recent NHPA Judging Clinics were first offered in Buffalo, NY - three years ago. They were also offered last year, and again this year in Montgomery. Each year there have been about 30 or so members who have attended these clinics from many states, and the feedback has been very favorable each year.

by David Sidles, Secretary-Treasurer/Insurance

As World Tournament Director, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on this year's event. While it may have seemed that things went very smoothly, which they did, a lot of work and effort go into this and a lot of people deserve to be recognized and thanked.

I'd like to give you an update on the condition of the equipment. As you know, the portable courts have been in service since the WT in York, PA in 2008. This equipment has serviced nine world tournaments.
