Volunteer Recognition Celebration &
Earth Day EDH

April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month! Please join us for a Volunteer Recognition Celebration honoring our community volunteers who have contributed 16,543 hours to make El Dorado Hills a better place to live, work, and play. Light refreshment will be served. 
Additionally, in celebration of National Volunteer Month, we have an opportunity for you to give back to your community. The District needs volunteers for the Earth Day EDH on Saturday, April 21, 9am-1pm at Promontory Community Park, 2700 Alexandra Way.

Have a background in building industry trades? Looking for a civic engagement opportunity in El Dorado Hills? If so, consider joining DRC. C.A.R.E Program - Community Assisting with Recreation Experiences
To ensure every resident has an opportunity to participate in recreation programs and activities provided by the District, the District and the El Dorado Hills Promise Foundation offer the C.A.R.E. program to residents who need assistance with recreation program fees. So far in Fiscal Year 2018, over 30 individuals across 22 families have received scholarships through the C.A.R.E. Program. For questions or assistance with the application process, please call the District Registration Office (916) 933-6624 or download the application.

Tauni Fessler & J.R. Hichborn AFO Certified
Tauni Fessler, Director of Parks and Planning, and J.R. Hichborn, Parks Superintendent, were both recently certified as Aquatic Facility Operators (AFO) by the National Certification Board (NCB) and National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). To become AFO-certified, individuals must pass a nationally-administered examination testing knowledge of the mechanics involved in the functioning of a swimming pool, ability to perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs, competence in all areas of water chemistry pertaining to pools, and knowledge of risk management practices. Congratulations, Tauni and J.R.!

The Summer Recreation Guide is on its way! Look for it in your mailbox during the second week of April, or come and pick up a copy in the Registration Office and Pavilion. A digital version will also be available for download on the District's website: www.edhcsd.org .  

Girls Night Pajama Party
When:  Saturday, April 21, 6-8:30pm
Where: CSD Gym, 1021 Harvard Way
Did you hear that we added a second night for the Girls Night Pajama Party? Join us for loads of girly fun! Pick and choose activities like nail painting, jewelry making, paper dress design, while enjoying some classic Pajama Party junk food and TWO fashion shows. April Pool's Day & Family Pool Pass
March to the Pool to kick off the summer season with a bang! Enjoy a FREE afternoon of swimming and fun with the family. Summer staff will be on hand to answer questions about the summer swim lessons and other Aquatics programs offered in 2018. Also, don't forget to purchase your Family Pool Pass for $99! Price increases to $195 on May 1.

El Dorado Hills News
Mito Kids 5K Run/Walk

Where: El Dorado Hills Town Center
Mitochondrial Disease is not very well known but every 30 minutes a child is born that will be diagnosed with a mitochondrial disease by the age of 10. Currently, there is no cure for this disease. Please come run/walk for a cure and help us raise money not only for the families dealing with the expensive financial burden of the disease, but also for Stanford University to aid with their continuing efforts to find a cure!  Click here  to register.
