No Way! 6/28/15

No Way To Slow Down! 6/28/15

Matthew 13:24-30 (KJV)
24  Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25  But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

26  But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27  So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

28   He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29  But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

With a weary heart and worried soul I write today's message.

It is 5:20 AM, Sunday morning, June 28.

I have been awake since 3 AM-Yes, little Amanda woke me up AGAIN, but she is fast asleep.

I have laid in PRAYER for several hours, contemplating and composing my word for today carefully.

Jesus, Himself, uttered these chilling Words:

Matthew 13:25 (KJV)
25  But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

The PROBLEM lies in the FACT that men HAVE to sleep!!!!!

And YES, I BELIEVE and believe I understand "THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD" duly recorded in Ephesians Chapter 6.

The PROBLEM there is that is is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to sleep with a helmet on, full body armour donned, a sharp sword beside you and combat boots on.

In all sincerity, try it!

We may manage to sleep a few nights or a few hours, but the truth is sometimes that armour has to come off-maybe an occasional shower???

My TITLE today comes from an OLD but beloved song from an obscure rock band, Jethro Tull.

With apologies to the late Rev. David Wilkerson, (who chastised me sternly for my use and love of old R AND R music), AND apologies to any here who also believe the same, the poetry expressed in the song "LOCOMOTIVE BREATH" is a startling truth.

Ian Anderson, the author and composer of the song wrote this line:

"

Old Charlie stole the handle and the train it won't stop going

No way to slow down."

"While men sleep," this world is HURTLING toward utter destruction and Hell itself!

While WE are DISTRACTED and fighting each other, good men and women are fighting for their lives.

Pick a subject-gay marriage, confederate flag, race baiting and hating, ISIS, Greece financial failing, TPP/TPA, immigration, GMO, global warming-the list to fight, argue and hate is endless.

I PERSONALLY know and LOVE two dear souls fighting end stage cancer.

My wife is 85 lbs due to that dread disease and its treatment, my daughter moans softly now in bed, unable to get up on her own power and unable to effectively communicate her needs.

My son is on death row and I have one daughter and TWO grand children whose home address reads Heaven.

PEOPLE are HURTING and SCARED.

In a similar situation, the Disciples asked Jesus what to do:

Matthew 13:28 (KJV)
28   He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

THE "enemy HAD/HATH DONE THIS!"

PAST TENSE- "HATH DONE!!!"

Or, as Ian Anderson sang:

"

Old Charlie stole the handle and the train it won't stop going

No way to slow down."

THE TRAIN HAS LEFT THE STATION, BELOVED!

No way to "put the genie back in the box!!!"

Jesus' reply is equally startling:

Matthew 13:29 (KJV)
29  But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

Matthew 13:30 (KJV)
30  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

GOD AND GOD ALONE WILL SORT OUT THE TARES!!!!!

I close with David's Words:

Psalm 2:1-6 (KJV)

1
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying

,

3

Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5

Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

6  Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
