Words from the Executive Director
How thankful are you? Recently I read the following thoughts that are appropriate anytime, but especially now in November. “Thanksgiving is not a day on the calendar but rather an attitude towards life. I think it was Mark Twain who said we ought not to have a day of thanksgiving, but instead to have a day of grumbling. His point was that we should confine our grumbling to just one day and our thanksgiving to the other 364 days!” The pastor writing also told about a man who decided to put thanksgiving into practice. Every time he wrote a check he put a little notation in the bottom left hand corner. He wrote “thank you.” He did this when he wrote his power bill. He oftentimes felt that the power bill was more than it should be, but he was thankful that he had power, so he could have heat, air conditioning and lights.

He put “thank you” on every check that he wrote for his mortgage. Again, he felt like the interest rate was too high and his mortgage payment was more than it should be, but he was grateful that he was able to own a house.

He even wrote “thank you” at the bottom of every check that he wrote to the IRS. Now that is really being thankful! He had to write a quarterly estimate check. It seemed to be an awfully big portion of his income, but he was thankful that he lived in America and that he enjoyed all the things that the United States government provided for him. He was even grateful that he could pay taxes!

Thanksgiving is really an attitude that we should express in all our relationships. We are blessed to live in a great nation, to be alive today, to have the freedoms that we enjoy, and to be able to relate to people. There is a great old gospel song that says, “Count your many blessings; name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.”

In Noonday, you can be thankful for the great work God is doing and the many great works in prayer, evangelism, discipleship and leader development.  God is doing a great work and making a difference near and far. Relational connections and the continued partnerships are making an eternal impact. Thanks be to God that it is the great co mmission. Claude King shared recently that if not for the beginning, “All Authority in Heaven and on Earth has been given to me” and then “I will be with you always” from Jesus the Great Commission would be mission impossible.

It is our joy to serve you! Thankful to see turnarounds, barriers broken, gospel conversations and new churches making a difference.

In a culture where the Gospel is needed more than ever, what is an effective method for sharing Christ and discipling new believers? Books have been written on this question, often producing little tangible results.

What if you could equip your church in a method and way to kick start its implementation? What if you could see people trust Christ and move seamlessly into a discipling relationship, which would enable them to also quickly be equipped to lead others to Christ? Would this be worthy of your energy and involvement?

Because I’m certain the answer is yes, please make plans to be part of our evangelism training on November 18, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

On November 18, we will learn and apply a method for leading others to Christ and discipling them which is literally bringing hundreds of thousands of people to Christ around the world. It has proven to be highly effective for several churches in the USA and for several here in the Noonday Baptist Association.

This training is for all staff and members of our churches.

A Note from David Suddath...
There are dates each year that remind me of important events in my life. July 1, 1999, is one of them. That was my first day at Noonday Baptist Association. I came knowing this was where the Lord was leading and excited about what lay ahead. I have not been disappointed. These eighteen and a half years have been some of the best ones of my life. Getting to know and share with the pastors and leaders in our churches in the good times and sometimes not so good times has been one of the joys of my life. The Lord blessed me by allowing me to minister and serve through our association. Just as surely as I knew I was called to come to Noonday, I now know it is time for me to retire and to focus on the next stage of my life and ministry. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this great association. My last day of employment with the association will be December 31, 2017.
I will continue to keep the ministry of the association in my thoughts and prayers and wish only the best for the personnel who guide this organization under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. I hope to see many of you around town since Maye and I will continue to live in Marietta.
A Note from Sue Atwell...
It has been my privilege to serve you for over 20 years. When I started in 1995, we had about 40 die cuts and bought our first concession equipment later that year.

I have watched our resources grow in these years as we have strived to meet our churches’ needs. From printing banners, helping with workroom projects and equipment, I have heard all about your projects and events, been blessed to pray for and rejoiced in how God blessed them.

I have met so many people, some who became good friends, and the Noonday staff has been my extended family. It is time that I spend my days with Roy, my wonderful husband of 53 years, and to enjoy our 10 grandchildren and 2 great grands, any day of the week.

As of January 2, 2018, I am claiming Jeremiah 29:11 and waiting to see His plans.
The Journey of Christmas
The choir and Orchestra of Summit Baptist Church will be presenting: "The Journey of Christmas" on Saturday, December 16 at 6:00 p.m. The Journey of Christmas is a musical/drama that reminds us of the journey Christ took to demonstrate God's love for mankind!
January 18: 2018 GBACE Annual Meeting
GBACE Conference 2018
January 18th
9:00 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
Lakewood Baptist Church, Gainesville, GA
Disciples that are truly following Christ make Him known to a world that needs to know Him. Unfortunately, as Christian educators, we sometimes treat discipleship and evangelism as two separate functions. At the REDEFINE conference, you will be challenged to equip your church to make an impact in the world with the gospel through discipleship.
Our calling, as a disciple, and as a disciple maker, is to continually REDEFINE everything we do with Jesus and His Great Commission as our standard-engaging in discipleship that leads to evangelism that leads to discipleship.
Breakout sessions will equip those involved with the discipleship ministry of your church, including children & student ministry leaders! Make plans to get 2018 started by joining us at Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA for this important conference and bring your key leaders with you!

This is the time of the year that we start preparing for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays; where we reach out to others in giving. The students at Cornerstone Prep’s Beta Club did just that by coming into Storehouse and giving a part of their day packing boxes. For these students it was not a chore but a choice. I truly enjoyed them because of their willing and humble spirits. They shared with me some great quotes on why they came and their thoughts on serving in the community.
“It’s really not a difficult task to pack boxes but it has great rewards.” Andrew Donaldson-12 th grade
“I have never been here before and I like how it’s laid out. Anyone can help here – even young kids because it is so organized. It’s fun to serve alongside my friends.” Laura Grace Guice – 12 th grade
“A lot of when I think about helping others it seems more complicated. Here anyone can help serve. It’s easy, fun and rewarding!” Peter McNiff – 11 th grade
“It’s fantastic how God is easier to spot than we think. He’s here in this small space. One small act of obedience can do big things and impact others. Packing boxes full of good food to help others isn’t hard but it’s rewarding and fun to serve with friends.” Danny Kotula – 11 th grade
This is what Storehouse is all about not just the boxes but the love that is put into the boxes. We would love to have, your small group, Sunday school class or individuals come out to help with packing boxes, answering phones, stocking shelves. There are so many opportunities to serve here!

Many volunteers are needed to assist with packing the food boxes during the next four months. Storehouse, at this time, has a very critical need for more phone intake volunteers . Please call Tish Young at (770) 424-3014 for more detail information on how you can be involved with this ministry.
Office Hours for Thanksgiving

Don't forget that on Sunday, November 5 we will FALL BACK.

Change your clocks before going to bed on Saturday night.
