Attention Salem Area Alums:

There is a HUGE need for immediate help for the school.

If you are available any Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, or any portion of that time, North needs volunteers to help monitor Saturday School.  This is not a punitive Saturday School, but a time when students voluntarily come into the school to do school work, particularly if they do not own a computer.  Last Saturday, 180 (that's more than 1/10th  of the student body) students filled the library and its three computer labs trying to get work done.  The two assigned teachers, a math and a science teacher, were overwhelmed.

You do not need to have any special knowledge, but just to help the process take place.  If you are willing to fill in for any Saturdays, including tomorrow, or any parts of Saturdays, please contact Steve Chambers at or 503-364-5767.

If you have not already done so, please send to Steve Chambers your full contact information (name, maiden name where applicable, street address, phone number, and graduating class or if your are a friend) as this will help us keep in contact should your e-mail address change.

Please forward this newsletter to other Vikings so they can also stay in touch with the school.
