FEATURED WINES
Staff Picks
Doug's Pick:
2015 Chateau Bianca, Willamette Valley Pinot Gris
I think this wine delivers incredible value. This is a Pinot Gris with some serious texture and depth of flavor. It sees some skin contact pre-fermentation which adds a bit of weight to the palate and gives the wine a beautiful light copper hue. A truly versatile wine. If you're looking for other whites for the (hopefully) upcoming warm weather, check out this week's blog post as well. Cheers! - $16.99
Emily's Pick:
2015 Markus Altenburger, Blaufrankisch vom Kalk
If it's written in German, I'm probably going to drink it. This wine is from Austria, but luckily they speak German there. And the hills are alive with the flavors of Blaufrankisch. This one has that distinct earthy sort of nose, but the palate is packed with rich fruit flavor. 10/10 would drink while watching the Sound of Music with some wurst. -$21.99
Madison's Pick:
2014 Argiolas Costera, Cannonau di Sardegna
Ripe strawberry, black cherry, and herbs with a rounded earthy richness. Cannonau (as the Sardinians call it, grenache or garnacha as its more familiarly known) has a natural affinity for roasted meat and spiced vegetables. Grab this one for your first springtime barbecue. -$17.99
Dave's Pick:
2017 Luigi Giordano, Vino Rosato
As any wine enthusiast knows by now, rose wines are a hot commodity. The category has been steadily growing for more then 10 years. but, amidst the glut of new California bottlings and rose in fancy packages from traditional pink wine sources, some non traditional rose varietals get lost. For me, these are usually from red grapes that naturally have intense flavor and high natural acidity. Luigi Giordano Rosato is such a wine. Made of prestigious Nebbiolo grapes from Barberesco, this rose' has a intensity and grace that makes it stand out from the crowd. - $21.99
