The
Lincoln Park Conservancy
, the non-profit that stewards
Lincoln Park, has drafted a proposed Vision and Master Plan for the future of the North Pond area. The pond is not in good health, and Sunshine Playground on Lakeview needs rehabbing.
You're invited to an
open house presentation
about this proposal on
Thursday, July 21st from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
at Francis W. Parker School - Large Gym, 2233 N. Clark Street. Short formal presentations will be given at
6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Please attend this event hosted by the Lincoln Park Conservancy, the Chicago Park District, and my office to learn about potential improvements and share your feedback.

2050 N. Clark Street Proposal
Proceeds to Plan Commission
A proposed 5-story, 32 unit residential development at 2050 North Clark Street (the site of a former Jesuit facility) is scheduled to go before the Chicago Plan Commission on
Thursday, July 21 at 10:00AM
.
The project was granted zoning relief by the City's Zoning Board of Appeals back in May, but under the
Lakefront Protection Ordinance
, the plan also needs the approval of the
Plan Commission. You are welcome to attend.

18th District DUI Strike Force Patrol
18th District of Chicago Police Department, which covers our Ward south of Fullerton, will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol
this upcoming weekend. The Patrol will begin on Saturday, July 16 at 7:00 PM and end on Sunday, July 17 at 3:00 AM. The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers
that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving.

during the month of June w
hich may be related. In these incidents, an offender approaches a victim, produces a knife and demands property. These incidents have generally occurred in the morning hours between
9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

North Branch Industrial Corridor Update
Mayor Emanuel's Industrial Corridor Modernization kick-off meetings took place June 6-8 for the North Branch Industrial Corridor. If you did not attend, this summary includes all of the information presented at the meetings and recaps community outreach efforts to date. You can provide feedback using the Department of Planning and Development's new social mapping tool, sMap. Though not located in the 43rd Ward, the future of this area will have a lasting impact on transportation and quality of life issues for our residents and businesses. You are encouraged to comment.

Taste of Lincoln Ave Festival Volunteer Request
Join the Wrightwood Neighbors Association next month on Saturday, August 6th and Sunday, August 7th for the Taste of Lincoln Ave Festival. The Festival will take place on Lincoln Ave between Wrightwood and Fullerton Ave.
Volunteers are needed! If you are interested in volunteering there are 4 hour shifts between the hours of
Noon and 10:00 PM
.
All Volunteers receive FREE entrance to the festival, complimentary T Shirt, food and beverages ,and the opportunity to contribute to a local organization dedicated to assisting the needs of your neighborhood.

Heat Relief - City Cooling Centers
While you're out and about this holiday weekend please be aware that if you're getting too hot during the extreme heat of the summer the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) operates six
Cooling Centers
located inside of the City's Community Service Centers. Also be sure to look in on seniors in your area as they are often the most vulnerable to the heat.
