Departmental Weekly Update

Weekly Summary
  • Monthly Staff Meeting was held with Administrative Staff and Chief Officers. This included a one hour session on leadership.
  • The Department, in conjunction with Safe Kids Wisconsin hosted a Car Seat Round-up Day on April 22. Residents were able to properly dispose of car seats that had expired, were involved in a car crash, were damaged or are no longer being used.
  •  A big thank you to the Milwaukee Country Club for allowing us to teach Hands Only CPR this at their location. They are a shining example of how impactful this life saving skill can benefit someone in need. Last year, one of their members experienced sudden cardiac arrest while playing a round of golf. Fortunately, members in the foursome were trained in CPR and resuscitated their friend!
  • Chief Whitaker was one of four area fire chiefs asked to answer phones for the Red Cross Giving Day Telethon on Fox 6.
  • Training for all members continued on the new federally mandated emergency medical reporting system. The Department will "go live" with this system on May 15.
  • High-rise fire training continued at 2500 N Mayfair Rd.
