Weekly Summary

 

  • The Fire Commission approved the hiring of Kenneth Lamas, Trevor Potkay, Michael Demcak as firefighters. The Commission also approved the promotion of Steven Tippel from Intern Firefighter to Career Firefighter.
  • A recruitment process to establish a new firefighter eligibility list was approved by the Fire Commission.
  • Congratulations to Heavy Equipment Operator Chad Semrow who completed his certification as a Peer Fitness Trainer through the American Council on Exercise. Chad will join the Department's other Peer Fitness Trainers who provide assistance to our staff in developing fitness routines that assist in performance of job related activities. The Department participates in a regional cooperative for the peer fitness training program with other area fire departments.
  • Four people had to be rescued from their vehicles by firefighters when they became trapped by rising water on I-43 at Green Tree Rd during a heavy rain storm on August 17.
  • A fire in a home on Lake Dr in Bayside caused $200,000 on August 17.
  • The Department assisted the Milwaukee Fire Department at a 2 Alarm Fire on August 18.
