Weekly Summary
  • The Fire Commission administered the written portion of promotional exams for the positions of Fire and EMS Lieutenant this week. The next step in the process for the candidates will be the assessment center which grades candidates on their ability to perform job related functions in various situations.
  • Firefighter/Paramedics Aaron Turcotte, Joshua Leverenz, Tyler Vahsholtz, Tyler Hillen and Greg Gilles were approved for successful completion of their probationary periods with the Department.
  • The Fire Commission interviewed six candidates for Intern Firefighter positions with the Department.
  • A fan caused a small fire in an apartment at 7275 N Port Washington Rd in Glendale on August 18.
  • 2 people were injured in a motor vehicle accident at 66th and Brown Deer Rd on August 20.
Welcome Rene Gratz to the Fire Commission

The Department would like to welcome Rene Gratz to the Fire Commission representing the Village of Shorewood. Rene has been a long-time Shorewood resident and also serves on the Village's Elder Services Advisory Board. Rene replaces Tim Cotter who recently moved from the Village.
