Departmental Weekly Update
North Shore Fire/Rescue In The News
  • Channel 12 did a great story this week on a cardiac arrest victim that was at Nicolet High School who's life was saved by the actions of his family, school staff, a Glendale Police Officer, our responders and Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee. Click here to see the story. What happened at Nicolet High School is a great demonstration of the value of North Shore Fire/Rescue's committment to help train citizens, employees in workplaces and local law enforcement in CPR and use of automated external defibrillators (AED) and our strong emergency medical service system. Data overwhelming shows that cardiac arrest survival rates greatly improve when communities are well trained in CPR and AED use.
  • North Shore Fire/Rescue participated in a media event introducing a partnership with local fire/emergency medical service agencies, the Milwaukee Bucks and Froedtert/Medical College of Wisconsin aiming to increase community education in CPR. The Milwaukee Bucks are sponsoring an emergency medical services night on March 11. Local emergency responders will be on hand to provide hands-only CPR training to fans that attend the Bucks game that evening. Channel 4 and 6 ran stories this week on the partnership.
