Congratulations to Retiring Heavy Equipment Operator Jon Holcomb

Heavy Equipment Operator/Paramedic Jon Holcomb retired from the Department this past week. Jon served the North Shore Communities for twenty-six years. A send-off event was held at Fire Station 84 in Whitefish Bay, Jon's most recent assigned station on May 31.

Weekly Summary
  • As the school year comes to an end, the Department participated in several "ride a fire truck to school" events throughout the communities. The Department provides a limited number of certificates for these events to community groups as donations towards fundraising auctions throughout the year.
  • Chief Whitaker met with Milwaukee County Sheriff Richard Schmidt to discuss agency interaction and potential partnerships as part of both agencies' initiatives to keep communities safe.
  • Assistant Chief Harris and several Battalions Chiefs met with representatives of North Shore Professional Firefighters Local 1440 to update a memorandum of understanding relating to daily staffing issues.
  • The Fire Department Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday June 12.
