The Department was alerted to the fire by a fire alarm activation in the building. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke in the warehouse and a fire on top of rack storage, approximately 30 feet off the ground. The fire sprinkler system had held the fire in check, but firefighters needed to remove the products that were burning, complete extinguishment and remove smoke from the building. Assistance was received from the Thiensville and Wauwatosa Fire Departments at this incident.
  • A tractor trailer carrying petroleum products overturned at I-43 and Brown Deer Rd on March 11. A combination of 500 gallons of diesel fuel from the truck's fuel tank and petroleum product on the truck spilled on the roadway and had to be cleaned up by the fire department, County Highway Department and the trucking company. The roadway was closed for several hours while the clean-up took place and the truck was uprighted.
