Weekly Summary
  • All Department Members completed annual turnout-gear inspections and FIT Testing for self-contained breathing apparatus facepieces. The FIT Testing is required until Wisconsin Commerce Standard 330. Gear inspections are utilized to ensure all member's gear meets Department Standards for safety and fit.
  • 5 Alarm Fire and Safety, the local vendor representing the Department's selected self-contained breathing apparatus manufacturer replaced a specific valve in all member's facepieces this week under warranty.
  • The Department's Operations, Tactics and Strategy Committee met this week to discuss fire suppression tactics and strategy.
  • A bedroom fire at a home in Glendale caused fire and smoke damage to the home on February 24.
  • A fire on the roof of a restaurant in Fox Point caused $10,000 damage on February 25.
  • Six people were injured in a motor vehicle crash in the 700 Block of West Silver Spring Dr on February 27.
