Departmental Weekly Update
Climbing for a Cure

A fourteen member team of North Shore Firefighters participated in the 2018 Climb for a Cure for Cystic Fibrosis on November 8. The team came in a close second place in the firefighter group to a quick and young West Allis team.

Firefighters in full turnout gear climb the 47 story US Bank Building - not an easy feat by an means.  The North Shore Team was sponsored by the North Shore Fire/Rescue Foundation who funded entry fees for the team. Great Work!

North Shore Fire/Rescue has great people doing great things every day to serve the community. We recently received two thank you notes from residents that we want to share.

  • Robert Elliott, a Whitefish Bay Resident, recently won a Ride to School in a Fire Truck for his grandchildren. One of our fire engines picked his grandson Sam up at his home in Whitefish Bay and made a grand entrance for his drop-off at Richards School. Mr. Elliott wrote, "
Thank you again for arranging this. It could not have gone better. The kids were thrilled, as were the parents. The firefighter was terrifically nice to the kids. I did not get his name but he was a big part of the experience.  Thanks again."
  • Matt Leibham, a Stormonth School Cub Scout Leader, send this note after his scout's came to Fire Station 85 in Bayside for a tour and safety talk, "Please pass along a big Thank You to the guys for hosting the Wolf Den from the Stormonth cub scouts.  The kids enjoyed it so much.  I had parents say it was well done and going over campfire safety was a great way for them to ready themselves for our future camping trips.   We really appreciate it!!"
