Thank you for participating in the 2016-2017 academic calendar year survey. Your feedback will provide valuable insight to the District Education Improvement Committee (DEIC). This committee is made up of parents, teachers, and community members and is responsible for developing the calendar and making a recommendation to the board.
The DEIC will review the feedback from the survey at the next committee meeting in January prior to making a recommendation to the school board for approval. The committee plans to take a recommendation to the School Board in February.
Traffic Alert - Alliance Airport Construction
Beginning the second week in January, there is an anticipated amount of construction traffic near the Alliance Airport primarily along FM 156 from the Northwest/Justin area to Alliance Airport. Lane Construction has informed Northwest ISD, there will be construction trucks traveling during the day time hours. The project is expected to last three months, and a similar operation will take place again late spring and early summer.
The district does not anticipate any delays in bus transportation at this time. As always, the safety of our students and staff is our first priority. As more specific information is released regarding road closures, the district will notify families of any potential delays in transportation.
Real Talks - Dealing with Anxiety
Each month, the Northwest ISD counseling department provides an article,
Real Talks, dedicated to addressing issues our children face and strategies parents can use at home if their child has questions or concerns. This month,Real Talks addresses dealing with anxiety. Northwest ISD encourages parents to partner with the school district by utilizing the resources provided as strategies or tips to guide the conversation with their children.
