STOP!
BEFORE YOU THROW AWAY FOOD PACKAGING...
during this holiday season.
Don't stop collecting those box tops during all that holiday baking! The fall collection date will be December 20th
We'll take them any way that you can send them in, but if you or your children have time to trim around the box tops, that saves our box top crew some time.  If you have any questions, please email the PTO at

Copper Creek is running another year of STEM Scouts (sponsored by SimpleView).  This is a great after school program that is run by Boy Scouts of America and meets once a week (for the school year) on Thursdays from 2:30-4pm in our science lab with Mr. Tutone as the instructor. Kids will participate in hands-on investigations every week in various science and engineering topics. The program is open to ALL 3rd-5th graders. The cost is just $200 to be paid now to the STEM scouts program and then an additional fee of $50 to the PTO to be paid later (if you participated last year and have the STEM scouts shirt and lab coat) and $85 if this is your first year as you'll need to purchase the STEM scouts shirt and lab coat (for safety reasons). These fees cover the ENTIRE year of program costs and the class has a maximum enrollment of 16 students. If you are interested in this program, please email Kendra at kendra_ritchey@yahoo.com.

Happy Sunday Hawk Families!

This past week I was able to spend some significant time in classrooms to really observe some of our instructional practices.  I was so impressed, especially in our 5th grade classes. The dialogue I heard between our students was rich and cognitively demanding.  Frankly, I would have been impressed to hear it in a high school class.  I encourage you to ask your children about what they are learning each day - they may surprise you!

These last two weeks before winter break are busy.  Students are finishing projects, instructional units are being completed, and successes are being celebrated.  Thank you again for all of your support as we create a well-rounded experience for our children.

Sincerely,

Kristjan Laumets
Principal
Many of our classes have signed up to adopt a family this holiday season.  Just a reminder that all gifts should be wrapped and turned into the classroom by
Thursday, December 14th.
Copper Creek Giving Tree

The Copper Creek Community has been amazing in its generosity towards others. Thank you for that!
While many classes have adopted an Amphi family for the holidays, there is a family right here at Copper Creek in need.
Please visit our Giving Tree in the front office if you can help this family for the holidays. Take an ornament with their requested item and return it wrapped and tagged for the person it's intended for by Wednesday, December 20th.
Thank you for helping to create an amazing, thoughtful, and generous community.

Notes from STUDENT COUNCIL
This time of year there are many students in our district that can't afford clothes to keep them warm.  Student Council is sponsoring a Warm Clothing Drive.  We are asking for gently used pants, shirts, sweaters, shoes, and brand new underwear and socks in packages, to donate.
All the items collected will go to the Amphitheater Clothing Bank. Please bring your donations to the front office. Items will be collected until December 21st.

Amphi Foundation is collecting food items to help students over the Holiday Break. Copper Creek has been challenged to collect 200 jars of jelly before December 15th.  Do you think you could help us not only meet the challenge, but beat it? Please bring your jars of jelly to the front office by December 14th.

The Student Store will be open Wednesday, December 6, during lunch for all grades. There will be some great holiday items for sale including splat balls, bendables, plush snowmen, and reindeer antlers.
All items range from $0.25 to $3.

There will also be HOLIDAY GRAMS for sale. For $1, you can send a friend or staff member at Copper Creek a message along with a holiday pencil and a candy cane. These can be purchased at the front office or the student store.

Thank you for supporting our Student Council, or school, and our community!
