We are delighted to bring you our 6th annual "Independence Day Extravaganza" next week. Once again, Palmetto Bay's Village Hall, 9705 E. Hibiscus St., will be the center of a booming celebration of America's birthday with rides, food, music and the grand finale, a spectacular fireworks display.

We'd like to take a moment to inform you of some details as we prepare for the big boom:

Activities:

There will be plenty of fun activities in the hours leading up to the fireworks show, so be sure to come out early at 5:30 pm to get a good viewing spot and enjoy food/beverage (ID required for alcohol purchase) served by several different food vendors. There will also be face painting, stilt walkers, live bands, an artist/craft area, LED robots and a free kid's fun zone with inflatables and amusement rides—something for everyone in the family.

Parking and Road Closures :

Free satellite parking with shuttle service will be available to and from the event from 5:30 pm - 11 pm at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary St. Richard Catholic School, 18455 Franjo Road. Free, (limited) parking will also be available at Palmetto Bay Park. Cash parking ($15) will be available at Palmetto Station Apartments (SW180th St. entrance only - no elevator service available). Public transportation, Uber and Lyft are encouraged.

Village Hall/Early Park Closures:

In observance of Independence Day, Village Hall will be closed for business, and there will be no IBus MetroRail Shuttle Service. In order to prepare for the big night, many Village parks will be closing early on July 4th. Click here to see the complete list.

Do's and Don'ts:

Please, don't bring grills, fireworks or pets.
Please DO bring lawn chairs, blankets and a big smile!
